Seriously, I really DO need to see a doc but I just don’t want to hear what they have to say. Drop the weight, start exercising, start eating like an adult and not a teenager. Blah,blah,blah! Eat right, exercise, die anyway. No one gets out of this life alive.

“appropriate security measures” means that any federal employee, most state employees, and hosts of others can see your child’s BMI, but not you, because of HIPA.

Simply publishing their names, what they've demanded, and where they can be found will probably result in the total destruction of the effectiveness of their office ~ whatever it might have been before this nonsense came along.
Last thing most the mid and lower level folks in government agencies want is a lot of hate mail and threats.
This piece of nonsense guarantees they'll get a lot of both.
It's going to cost something to maintain armed guards at their suite too ~ their own fellow employees are not going to think highly of this one ~ AND, worst of all, they can no longer trust the buffet lunch at NIH, and that refrigerator they all share with "the other office" next door ~ that's out too!
Really doesn’t matter. BMI is junk science. There’s no objective use for it. The people who put the requirement in the regulations should be shown the error of their ways anyway.
I heard that there are Dunkin Donuts everywhere in Boston. I cannot even imagine what would happen to them.
I think that the BMI standards included a significant number of smokers.
Obama, a smoker, will have no problem meeting the standard.
Neither will Ann Coulter.
But those of us who don’t smoke will have a more difficult time escaping the fascist dragnet.
my bmi was just done, weighed in with all my clothes at 250 lbs... when it came to height he rounded down to 5.9 because of my shoes... i asked why not round up... you’re weighing all my clothes?
no response... i have very little “fat” i am big barreled chested, solid, now i am obese.

I hear ya. I was just at the gym, bench pressing more than anyone else in there by a fair margin. Yet I too am apparently “overweight” bordering on obese. Spare me from the twigs and pencil-necked geeks that are jealous of people willing to and disciplined enough to work out. I don’t want their BMI.
