"Really, the state is interesting, but IMHO it leans more left than right."

I guess I should have added the caveat "for the purposes of the Electoral College", it's a reliably Republican state. Only four times since 1952 has LA voted for a Democrat President - Clinton, Carter (both not coincidentally southern candidates) & Stevenson (I think).

"Back in Los Angelus, I have to pay $3.31."

I just paid a little more than that at my marina.

The last mini-energy crisis in 2008 demonstrate that the real "pain threshold" is right around $4/gallon, that is to say that's the number that begins to make American change their driving habits. That is also where Demorats would like to see gas, or much more.

Anybody else doing this would be hit with Contempt of Court so fast it would make their head swim. Odongo doesn’t understand the word “NO”. I’m not sure if its the “N” or the “O” he has problems with. Regardless of what it is, the judge needs to whack him a good one....maybe knock some sense in the man-child for the first time in his immature, spoon-fed life.

And of course we all know the Justice Dept. contains cutting edge experts on off-shore drilling.

“So what happens, this gets taken to court and overturned again and then bambi issues another and another?”

This is why the oil companies are moving rigs out of the gulf and suspending further drilling themselves. They figure it’s just a matter of time.

I hope the oil companies ask for damages that these frivolous legal attacks are causing.

After two court rulings against its six-month moratorium on deepwater oil and gas drilling, the Obama administration on Monday announced a revised ban that it described as essential and appropriate. The Interior Department said the revised ban incorporates "new evidence regarding safety concerns" as well as new procedures to gather industry feedback. Moreover, the revision suspends drilling not based on water depth, it said, "but on the basis of the drilling configurations and technologies."
Zero hasn't tried a moratorium on drilling through his own foot though...

Thanks OldDeckHand.

Today we are guided by our motto, “People and Nature Before Profits.”

Ok, then open your books and let's see just exactly how that works!

Friggin traitors, the whole lot of them should be hung in a public square then left for the buzzards.

Not only make the federal government pay but hold them in contempt.

Bullcrap...where’s the lawsuit just like the last one; we won that one and this is no different. Each of the 5 Red states in the Gulf better be suing.

I hope the judge slaps an injunction on this so fast it makes their heads spin and then tells them if they issue ANOTHER (this is the third) while the case is pending he will have Eric Holder and everyone involved jailed for contempt of court.

The point isn’t to stop the drilling, the point is to put enough doubt in the minds of the owners of the drilling rigs to make them move them to other countries so that it will be YEARS before they come back. Obastard gets his permanent ban on drilling in the Gulf and the Rat Congress doesn’t have to do a thing.

“...spoon-fed life” The very basis of the Liberal. No matter their socio-economic status, environs, doesn’t matter if Mommy and Daddy coddle them they become Liberals as they have never known anything other than getting what they want just happens.
