Senate-seeker wants Obama birth-certificate treatment Mexican-born candidate: 'If I didn't prove citizenship, I'd be removed from the ballot'

A Mexican-born candidate for U.S. Senate said he is considering a lawsuit against the Missouri secretary of state for discrimination because her office forced him to produce a birth certificate but "didn't make Obama show proof of citizenship" to appear on the ballot.

Hector Maldonado, 38, a self-described "Lincolnian Republican conservative," is seeking the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate in Missouri. He was born one of 10 children in Durango, Mexico. His father is a migrant field worker who owns a small hog ranch in Perris, Calif.

Here's the movie Obama does not want you to see: The investigation into this unprecedented presidential-eligibility mystery!

During the following July 5 interview with Karen Berka of Branson Radio Live posted on YouTube, Maldonado explains why he thinks his rights were violated when the secretary of state's office asked for proof of U.S. citizenship when he filed to run for the Senate:

Maldonado, a U.S. Army combat veteran who served in Iraq and Afghanistan, explains on his website that he became a U.S. citizen in 1995. But he said Secretaryof State Robin Carnahan sent him a letter in May asking him to produce documentation.

"It said, 'Hey, you have to prove you're a citizen.' I ignored it," he said. "You know, Obama ignored it, so I figured I could get away with it, too."

I was born in the US and have the documents to prove it and am proud to show them whenever necessary,

Obama has spent millions to hide and obscure whether he has any or not. Why?

Hubby met him and said he is truly a good guy. He has all the right instincts and background and is very like-able. I don't think he stands a prayer against Roy Blunt, but he is someone to continue to encourage. He is, by the way, a controlled border guy.

He's the son of a migrant farm worker who was born here, but his birth was registered in Mexico and he lived there until he was old enough to enlist. He speaks perfect English/American and believes the only way someone should be here is “by rule of law.” Talk about a great American success story, from migrant farm worker to US Senate Candidate. THESE are the immigration stories I like to hear.

Two points:

1. You are not allowed to make copies of the naturalization certificate.

2. Nothing will ever happen about ‘the BC’ until the MSM changes its attitude. forget the law (think ‘standing’).

“But I decided something different. I’m actually considering suing Ms. Robin Carnahan because she discriminated against me,” he said. “She has said that her job is to protect Missouri from fraud and corruption. But the fraud that she created if she did not make Mr. Obama show proof of citizenship when he petitioned to get on the Missouri ballot … all the votes that he got should be taken back.”

He said he hopes citizens of other states sue their own secretaries of state if they cannot show they requested proper documentation from Obama before allowing him to appear on the state ballot.

“Sooner or later, he’s going to have to prove – based on our demand – that he is in fact a U.S.-born citizen,” he said.

In an earlier interview on the subject, Maldonado said he spoke with other candidates running for the same office and asked if they had to show proof of citizenship or prove that they were citizens.

“They said no. I was the only one,” he said. “... I just don’t know, if I were running as a Democrat, would I have to prove the same thing? Or is there a more stringent process for the Republican candidates?”

14th Amendment Equal Protections clause.

If 0bummer doesn’t have to prove eligibility for his office, nobody else has to prove eligibility for theirs either!

If the Missouri Secretary of State asked Mr. Maldonado for his birth certificate, it was more than likely to prove his age. To be a member of the Senate, you need to be 30 years of age, a citizen of the US for 9 years, and a legal resident of the state you choose to represent.

IMO, any and every state official should demand proof of citizenship for EVERY candidate for the US Senate, or the House for that matter. And by the way, has Barry Soetoro, AKA Barack Hussein Obama ever been asked to produce proof of citizenship?

The only question I have is - Who certified Obama’s birth certificate and qualified him to run for president? The only “certification” I have seen is one signed by Pelosi and Reid as representatives of the Democrat Party.

And, like, they have a lot of credibility.

Excellent question. Maybe the DOJ will sue the SOS for discrimination. Yeah, right.

Sadly they were provided with documentation from the Democratic Party, certifying Obama's eligibility, that was and is acceptable. The fact that the DNC lied protects the Secretary of State.

We had to show our birth certificates to get hired at an Arizona bank. We were fingerprinted, too.

Another Arizona law that is coming down the pike just in time for the 2012 election is a law requiring all candidates for POTUS to show their long-form Birth Certificate. Zero is going to have a hissy about this one...but we’re used to it.

not quite true, a .gov entity can make a copy of a naturalization certificate. other than that you’re correct, this was explained to me at my naturalization ceremony.
