Is he okay?
According to our local news, he is still in the hospital but doing okay.
They haven’t said anything about the four people he fell on though. My luck, I’d be under this guy, break his fall and my neck!
Did he make the catch or not?
broke ankle and head injury....soon to be release from hospital
Here we go, with another ballpark foul ball casualty.
Is it just me, or are there more of these happening this year?
Thanks!
I figured it would be Astro fans throwing themselves over the railings of the second deck this year.
For a $7.00 baseball I would hope so.
no
So now the federal government will pass a new law mandating that all upper decks of ball stadiums have netting installed to prevent such falls. I’d almost bet money on it.
Would his injuries be covered by gubmint healthcare?
What is it with these people and catching baseballs? I’ve seen adults make complete jerks of themselves, trampling kids and other adults, just to get a foul baseball at a minor league game.
I believe if I were to throw a ham into a crowd of starving people, they would probably show more decorum and class...
Last night my wife got an alert on her phone that said “died” What a relief he is going to make it.
Hey Dude, hold my beer, watch this!
“One of the first persons to come to Morris aid was Derek Dilday, an off-duty paramedic.
“He was breathing hard; probably the wind got knocked out of him... No bleeding,” Dilday said. “He was trying to move his neck, but I was trying to hold his neck, so movement is good and he seemed OK.”
Emergency personnel rushed Morris away on a gurney around 8:35 p.m., and he was taken to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth.
Four other people were hurt when Morris fell, but they were all treated at the ballpark.
One of the injured a boy suffered a bruise to his face, team officials said.”
A fool and spinal cord are soon parted.
Mandatory seat belts on every seat!
“Would his injuries be covered by gubmint healthcare?”
It would if he was indigent. John Peter Smith Hospital is the county hospital for Tarrant County Texas. The county hospital is where you want to go for free care. Interestingly, John Peter Smith is also waaaay further than Arlington Memorial Hospital which is only 5 minutes from the Ballpark.
He’s a firefighter. I’m sure he was insured. Why not go to the closest?
