Thousands of American Muslims -- in Chicago this weekend for a mega convention -- are being asked to detail hate directed at them because of their faith.
"The survey will be asking about 3,000 respondents how Islamophobia has affected them and to identify where they see the most examples of it," Amina Sharif, Chicago spokeswoman for the Council on American-Islamic Relations, said Thursday.

"Chicago is a diverse metropolis, but that doesn't mean we're exempt from racial and ethic tensions."
Council officials will fan out across the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont to interview a random sampling of 30,000 Muslims registered for the 47th annual Islamic Society of North America Convention.
Friday night, Gov. Quinn addressed the four-day conference, billed as the largest gathering of its kind.
Panel discussions will touch on a wide variety of issues, from building alliances with members of the Jewish community to exploring the ethical implications of stem cell research.
The variety of topics, said organizers, might counter the kind of stereotypes the council survey seeks to expose.
The research effort comes on the heels of the pipe-bomb attack of a Jacksonville, Fla., mosque. About 60 worshippers were inside. None was injured. The FBI continues to investigate.
Chicago has avoided that kind of incident. Still, the council points to 170 complaints of discrimination filed by area Muslims this year alone.
"In one case, a man was verbally and then physically assaulted in the grocery store," Sharif said.
The survey aims to take a nationwide snapshot of the pressures facing Muslims nine years after the 9/11 attacks and as American military casualties in Afghanistan and Iraq climb.
Will the women be allowed in? Uncovered?
Maybe if they wouldn’t saw people’s heads off because they’re not ‘believers’, a dialog might be advanced. Having a ‘phobia’ of rabid dogs, venomous snakes and leprosy is not irrational.
I’d like to hear them to address and condemn:
honor killings
terrorist’s actions
hatred for the jews
(I won’t hold my breath)
"Stop making it so appealing."
A new permanent victim group for America. yaa
Stop blowing sh*t up and cutting off heads.
“Muslim convention to shine a light on hate”
Laser site?
Awwww, they have hurt feelings. So sad....
Anytime more than a few muslims get together hate is on the agenda.
Always playing the victim
All I can say is if you don’t like it here then get hell out and go back to the Desert.
My thoughts exactly. I will be willing to bet that not one woman is questioned about abuse. She would probably have to tell on her husband.
The nerve of these people, everywhere in the world they create hate because they initiate it. The hate they generate is because of their religious and cultural beliefs towards non-muslims. Period. It’s part of the very foundation of their precious mohammed’s own words. They will never assimilate anywhere because it is their intention to use any means necessary to conquer, kill or drive into submission non-muslims, especially ignorant, naive or just plain stupid hosts who invite them in as guests thinking they will get along and assimilate. Bull$hit. Throughout history to current times, it’s always the same. As to why the West chooses to ignore or bury it’s head in the sand only defers the coming societal war with these neanderthals. Wait, it will happen and it won’t be pretty. Tigers, or muslims for that matter, don’t change their stripes. They will continue to push, push, push until the necessary explosion, unless of course you “submit” which is what the word “islam” means in arabic. I think the majority of Americans should remain uncomfortable and understand the anticipated outcome of our special relationship with muslims, especially the jews among us. There are several of us who will go down swinging long before any submission takes place, and we’ll take them, the spineless politicians, academics, MSM and other assorted fellow travelers with us. We want Judeo-Christian society (the West, freedom and true tolerance) to survive, they don’t, none of them or their fellow travelers. They can all go to he!! as far as I’m concerned.
Look at the people around us: they are white.
When will they learn to stop judging people by race?
Do I have Islamophobia? Yes I do. As a Christian, I am taught to love people no matter who they are, but I don’t have to love their faith or their culture. I don’t have to love the idea of them spreading their faith and culture throughout my country. This is not racism or ignorance or intolerance; Islam is not compatible with a free society. They are free to practice whatever they wish...in an Islamic country. Not here. Sue me, CAIR. I’ll pray for you.

Thousands of American Nazis — in Chicago this weekend for a mega convention — are being asked to detail hate directed at them because of their faith.
“The survey will be asking about 3,000 respondents how Naziophobia has affected them and to identify where they see the most examples of it,” Amina Sharif, Chicago spokeswoman for the Council on American-Nazi Relations, said Thursday.
