U.S. Sen. John McCain and challenger J.D. Hayworth will get some face-to-face time next month amid their contentious Republican primary battle.
The two will meet July 16 in Phoenix in a debate hosted by KTVK Channel 3 and July 17 in Tucson in an event put on by PBS affiliate KUAS.
Hayworth has criticized McCain for his support of immigration reform the Troubled Assets Relief Program bailout in 2008. McCain has focused on Hayworths ethics, hammering the former congressman for appearing in 2007 informercials promoting Florida company that promised customers greater access to government grant money. That company was subject to consumer complaints and Hayworth said Thursday he regretted making the ads, reversing previous statements saying he had not regrets.
“They elect Napolitano twice.”
The Republican party didn’t put up attractive candidates against her.
“They elect Sheriff Joe over and over.”

Why they do mystifies me.
I’ve followed Juan since his detestable performance during the POW/MIA hearings in 1993. You are totally wasting your time trying to pretend McCain is anyone to be admired by me. I’ve observed him for far too long. Totally detestable and dishonest
Probably even more than his pro-illegal/anti-American attitude towards our borders and illegal aliens....McCain’s conduct at the POW/MIA hearings....with “his friend John Kerry”....was nothing short of treasonous.
As McCain’s supporters lament the few shortcomings of JD Hayworth....they cannot cover up the fact that John Hussein McCain makes Benedict Arnold look like an honorable man.....No one who has once served their country has done so much to undermine it like McCain
Someone like Arpaio will have enemies. He enforces laws many do not want to see enforced. Whether these Maricopa county officials have any legitimate complaint against the sheriff is anyone's guess. One certainly can't tell from reading any report. It might well be a bunch of political hacks trying to damage Sheriff Joe.
But it's undeniable that the voters of Arizona elect and reelect politicians with widely divergent stances on the same issues. And, the same folks who elected Napolitano twice (who vetoed laws to deny illegals state benefits, and was illegal friendly, and still is), now give Governor Brewer a good lead in the polls, and strongly support the immigration law she signed. But they also give Juan McCain, Senator Amnesty, a lead in the polls. Some bipolar disorder going on there.
All true. I'm afraid too many voters just don't pay close attention. And McCain has always had the MSM there to shield him. He's been too valuable an underminer of conservative causes, and the MSM will always protect someone like that, and give him all the TV and interview time he wants (as long as he undermines his own party).
There’s a simple explanation for Arizona’s bipolarity — interstate migration. A hell of a lot of Californians, from all across the political spectrum, have moved out here over the last couple of decades. The weird mix of stances on the issues and on whom we want representing us in Washington is a result of this, I’m convinced; the more bizarre decisions (like re-electing John McLame or electing Napolitano) are just a way of gauging what Californian liberals will and will not come out to support in Arizona.

I would say their case is certainly strong. It seems Arpaio and Thomas indicted something like 10 Maricopa County Officials, including County Board of Supervisors and Judges and their cases are now being dismissed by other judges in the state cause there is insufficient evidence to prove the charges.
And then there is the matter of some number of Maricopa County employees who got visits at their homes from Arpaio cause he wanted to know how they were going to testify while under queries by grand juries against him. I’d say that’s harassment and abuse of power.
Must be a lot of idiots in AZ if the polls are to be believed.
McCain has finally been shamed into a couple of debates, but what’s that third fool doing in the debates?
