U.S. Sen. John McCain and challenger J.D. Hayworth will get some face-to-face time next month amid their contentious Republican primary battle.
The two will meet July 16 in Phoenix in a debate hosted by KTVK Channel 3 and July 17 in Tucson in an event put on by PBS affiliate KUAS.
Hayworth has criticized McCain for his support of immigration reform the Troubled Assets Relief Program bailout in 2008. McCain has focused on Hayworths ethics, hammering the former congressman for appearing in 2007 informercials promoting Florida company that promised customers greater access to government grant money. That company was subject to consumer complaints and Hayworth said Thursday he regretted making the ads, reversing previous statements saying he had not regrets.
I have a feeling that McCain will have his head handed to him on a platter.
Time for John to go home.
Hayworth can out debate McCain every time..on the facts.
But the better liar is ol’ John. We’ll see how stupid people really are with this race.
John McCain claims he never supported amnesty (Is there a bigger lie than that one??)

Maybe, anyone ever ask him if he supports La Raza?
McCain has his conservative republican disquise on again like he does every 5.5 years. He is pushing for national guard on the border, etc, etc... If he wins another term he will immediately revert to his democRAT confort zone and push for amnesty for the 30-40 million illegals already here.
its just not going to be McCain and Hayworth. Deakin is also going to be in on the debates.
And Hayworth comes across as a loudmouth punk know it all type. McCain should do nicely.
McCain has a well earned reputation as someone with a volatile temper. Just watch his eyes and there is always a wild look there, as if he's always on the verge of flying off the handle. Wonder if he'll blowup when JD presses him on some of his flip/flops, amnesia, and assorted election year conversions, and outright lies?
Are you from AZ?
One does not have to be from Arizona to have been overexposed to McCain. Few have appeared on the Sunday morning shows more than McCain, and being one always willing to undermine his own party, he has had unusual access to the MSM. I've seen him far too many times, and he is always on the verge of flying off the handle if pressed in the least about what he is saying.
Well it helps to know if you are. That means you really haven’t been exposed to Hayworth very much then right?
Home or Hardball? Think he’s been on with Chrissy a million times.
Didn’t Juan recently say he was not a “maverick?” JD should make a commercial thats made exclusively of Chris Matthews calling Juan a maverick.
I followed Hayworth during most of his years in the House since he has always been a strong advocate of immigration law enforcement, and an opponent of McCain's several amnesty attempts. Also listened his talk show fairly often the last year before he entered the senate race (after the phony, later dismissed conflict of interest charge fomented by a McCain hack).
I find McCain to be one of the most dishonest and damaging members of Congress. He undermines conservative causes and has supported some of the most potentially damaging, and far reaching bills of the past few decades: McCain/Feingold, McCain/Kennedy, McCain/Lieberman. Few more dangerous characters anywhere in DC. And if he wins another term, he will revert to form and abandon all his very recently found conservative stances on the issues.
I've followed Juan since his detestable performance during the POW/MIA hearings in 1993. You are totally wasting your time trying to pretend McCain is anyone to be admired by me. I've observed him for far too long. Totally detestable and dishonest.
Then it makes you wonder why Hayworth lost his congressional seat then doesn’t it?
“McCain should do nicely.”
Then it makes you wonder why McShame lost his presidential bid then doesnt it?
Can’t make the same comparison.
It makes we wonder about the psychological state of the Arizona voters. They elect Napolitano twice. They elect Sheriff Joe over and over. They support their new immigration law by a large margin. And McCain leads in the polls after years of doing more to undermine immigration enforcement and promote amnesty for illegals than any other senator, maybe save Ted Kennedy.
There are bizarre and sharp differences in the political philosophies of some of the candidates Arizona elects, as if the voters have no clue about the beliefs of the people they vote for, or against.
JD has been consistent and solid on his stances, so much so that he was persona non grata at the Bush/Rove White House because of his immigration stances, and they worked to undermine his reelection campaign in 2006. He has more integrity and consistency than Juan, by a very large margin.
“Cant make the same comparison.”
Of course you can’t.
