You mentioned birth control. I assumed you meant birth control pills. Birth control pills are an abortifacient. What form of birth control were you referring to?

You may wish to believe in over-population in order to make yourself feel better about the choices you’ve made. That is, of course, your prerogative. Over-population is a myth.

My kids are in a loving home. I know my choice is not everyone’s. I clearly stated that several times in this thread. I’m not taking any moral high ground. You are fairly new and your comment about women popping out kids seemed out of place on FR. Lots of people here with large families. I had you pegged for a troll.

Fairly new? What are you, in high school? Who cares how new I am. I’ve either made a legitimate point or I haven’t. End of subject.

There are a number of forms of birth control that do not destroy life. You may want to research that, as they’ve been around for over 50 years.

As for “feeling better” about the choices I’ve made - I thank God on bended knees EVERY DAY that I was never called on by Him to have children. I never wanted them and I am delighted that I don’t have them. If that is “absolutely horrid” to you, then it makes me think that you are not at peace with your own choices. If you were, you wouldn’t care what other people do or don’t do with regards to having children.

You must not have been around long enough to see a troll get zotted. Your time here on FR is often brought up. Some people even celebrate their FR anniversary. If you start making comments that sound like they come from a liberal then you bet people here will check the date of your arrival.

So I guess you weren’t referring to the birth control pill. Fine. I still don’t think God gave us artificial birth control.

The “feeling better” comment was in reference to your accusing me of believing that over-population is a myth because I’ve contributed to it. I found that insulting and just turned your words around.

You not having children is not what was absolutely horrid to me. This was, “I’m sick to death of all these stupid women just popping out kid after kid.” Frankly, I’m kind of glad you didn’t have any kids, either. And I’ll say it again (and again, and again) that I know not everyone is called to have children or large families. That is absolutely between you and God. It’s none of my business whether or not you can/do/do not have kids. Just like it is absolutely none of your business whether or not women choose to have 2 or 6 or 12 children. I am totally at peace with our decision.

Oh yeah, and one more thing - birth control is one of the most wonderful of God’s gifts to us.

Hey troll, is Big Murder paying you to say this or do you do it for free?

But those who have kids for other motives are mentally ill.

I bet you got a "tingle running up your leg" when Zero said he didn't want his daughters to be "punished" with babies.

And I stick by my previous statement of over-population.

Perhaps you missed it when you joined last month, but Free Republic is a conservative, pro-life forum.

Where in the Holy Writ does God tell us to use contraception?

In a striking shift, women with advanced degrees are bucking the no-babies trend, with a higher percentage of them having children than in years past. Though childlessness as a whole is still highest among women with advanced degrees, rates of childlessness among women with masters' degrees decreased by 17 percent since 1994. It also declined by 32 percent for women with professional and doctorate degrees over the same period. Nine percent of all women held advanced degrees in 2008. Meanwhile, the rate of childlessness has increased most sharply among the least educated women.

Tell me why this is a bad thing? Those with higher IQs and higher productivity have more children, while the poor and less educated have less? Isn't this what we should be aiming for?

So far, we can afford 5 of them on one salary that is not in the 6 figure range.

I gather you don't live in NY/NY/CT.

When John Calvin was reproached for his lack of children, he retorted, “All Europe is peopled with my sons.” I do pray you’ll leave a legacy, a lasting influence for good.

I thank God on bended knees EVERY DAY that I was never called on by Him to have children. I never wanted them and I am delighted that I don’t have them.

God said to be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth.

The Bible over and over and over and over again calls children a "blessing".

Yet you apparently have no desire to reap that blessing. And you "thank God everyday" for his keeping you from having children?

Let me ask you this, is not having children actually a "blessing from God" or is it merely the product of your own selfish choice to thwart the will of God and practice artificial birth control?

FWIW if artificial birth control were available prior to the 20th Century we would likely have never have heard the music of Beethoven or Mozart or reaped the benefits of the inventions of Thomas Edison or Louis Pasteur. I dare say that if given an artificial choice, the mothers of many of these great minds would never have given birth to these men.

You think raising a child in the 21st Century is a burden, then how hard do you think it was 100 or 500 years ago?

So far, we can afford 5 of them on one salary that is not in the 6 figure range. We homeschool them, too. It’s all a matter of setting priorities.

The future belongs to those who are willing to pay for it -- with their own time, money, and faith. The domestic enemies of our faith are politely exterminating themselves, and the foreign enemies are here for us to evangelize. The future is as bright as the promises of God -- for those with eyes to see, hearts to love, and faith to act upon. Go for it!

I know those who weep over their inability to have children.

Artificial birth control is a human being saying he/she has control over existence/non-existence. Obviously, they are delusional.

So falls the West.

We have aborted our selves out of existantance. Like the Romans and Greeks before us, we have chosen destruction.

Educated Gen X and Gen Y kids have got to be the most indulged and earnest and self rightous bunch I’ve ever seen.

So many have been brainwashed beyond return over gender, environment, race and religion.

It’s a cultural collapse sans a few.

We boomers of course are Satan incarnate to those under 45 but at least we men had masculine features and love to have sex and make babies.

PS...yes the ones here have obviously escaped that.

Shallow people.

When was the last time a smart person got a TV show?

TV is the worst influence on everyone.

The younger women don’t want kids as much as they want validation, career and ultimately ...control.

And the lads have been so mommied up they can’t figure it out.

And academia just nailed the coffin shut on it all.

But thug kulture and other undesirables continue to breed like rabbits with no responsibility.

It will kill us....it already has largely.

got to go now....prayer calls from the minaret and all

The developed world is facing a demographic crash in the next few decades. Look at Japan for what our future will be. Think we have a housing crash now? If it weren’t for 10-20 million illegal aliens, we couldn’t give houses away.

In short, the developed world will end. Rome, Greece, the Byzantines, all chose the path we are on. They all fell to people who actually were having kids.

The majority of the posts on this thread are disappointing. I say “disappointing” rather than using other words that are not acceptable in polite conversation.
