I hate these stories. I just don’t get why the car manufacturers can’t solve this.
A thermal heat detector that can automatically roll the windows down................... Something???
Can’t SOMETHING be borrowed from the military/security industry to fix this problem??
Yes!!! Or a motion sensor/thermometer external alarm...
It’s a matter of selfish parents. I don’t think you can come up with any device to fix that.
Locally, we’ve had children left in cars because Mama needed to get her nails done or Daddy wanted a few drinks at the bar. My opinion: If you can’t your children somewhere, find a babysitter or stay home.
you are joking right?
why on earth should car makers make something for a parent so they do not forget they have children or do not know keeping them in a hot car is bad.
Christ I must be living on another planet because I could not do that to my kids nor forget them
We can already detect a person in the car...

“”A thermal heat detector that can automatically roll the windows down................... “”
So every car in a Texas parking lot would automatically become thief assessible on a hot day.
The moment you make a car idiot proof, they will just make a better idiot.
So let’s have the car makers spend a ton of money (thereby jacking up the auto price) to solve a problem that is not theirs to solve?
Um, yeah, or we could just start holding parents responsible for their children.
Novel concept, I know.
There is such a device - it was developed for police dogs, because they must stay in the patrol car if need be:
It would work to alert parents, too.
Unfortunately, the parents who care enough to purchase such a device are not likely to forget their child in the heat of summer.
