Right on. A budget would expose the trillions of dollars in debt we are faced with, the government waste, stupid earmarks, the increased taxes the pigs will need to force out of all of us, and make for bad campaign ads. So the Dems will dinck around with this till after November.

Uh, how can one build a budget when there is no money at the same time Onada and his band of angry commies intends to borrow money it cannot repay so that it can continue spending.

They are just waiting for the elections to be over, for they know any budget they had in mind would triple-cement their losses in November.

They'll either wait until after the elections, if the win; or pass all the chaos on to the new Congress, WHEN they lose.

But aren't we supposed to shut down the government if no budget is passed?

Isn’t passing a budget a statutory requirement?

Nevermind.

According to this http://thehill.com/blogs/on-the-money/budget/92237-house-has-passed-budget-resolution-every-year-since-budget-act-according-to-study, the budget rules are “non-binding”.

-- Isn't passing a budget a statutory requirement? --

The budget process is described in statutes. See Chapter 11 of Title 31; 31 USC 1101 et seq. But since the budget statute is basically a form of "rule" for how Congress will conduct its affairs, failure to abide by its own rules has no statutory penalty.

In other words, if there is a statutory requirement, "so what?"

A budget process is not a constitutional requirement - all the constitution provides is a (supposedly limited) grant of powers to Congress, the executive, and federal courts.

As conspiracy theory as that sounds, it is just step one of cancelling elections.

If the Republicans had any sense at how angry people are at Washington they would run $20 million in advertising telling the story of the budget signed two days after the inauguration of Obama, one 20% higher than any by GWB, and then they would tell them that they are using a TRICK to run the government on the same budget...without voting.

If there is no budget, then money cannot be spent. Can some lawyer file suit to stop spending that is not authorized. Bring this government to its knees.

Sole power to impeach a government official of wrong doing.

Under normal circumstances, it's House of Reps who brings the charges and the Senate that does the trial. Given the bozos infesting the Capitol building, though, I'm thinking citizens with pitchforks (and .357 Magnums?) would be the better choice.

Doesn’t matter. The president has been spending money without congressional approval.

He sent hundreds of millions to the Palestinians.

He declared by executive fiat that same sex roommates of homosexual federal employees get government benefits.

We have a king. This is not constitutional.

Spelling it “cancelled” is only correct in the UK and other countries with Queen Elizabeth on their currency (where they also spell words such as “travelling” and “labour”). In America, it’s spelled “canceled.” Maybe that’s why “cancelled” didn’t “look right” to you.

"You are now ready for the Double Jeopardy Round! Congratulations! ;-)"

;-)

Sadly I believe this country is in the "Final Jeopardy Round" and the best prize we can hope for is voting Obama out of office.
