Yep, the goofy general Wesley Clark comes to mind.

First and foremost, thank you for your service.

Second, I apparently need to use the /sarc tag more often. Appology appreciated but not accepted because it’s not necessary. IOW, Sir, you have nothing to appologize for. My fault for not being as clear as I thought I was.

Back in the day, my /sarc would have been over the top. Now, several Freepers thought I was serious. That in itself is a testament to the sorry state of our nation. Frankly, given the generally higher level of awareness in this community, that’s terrifying to me.

The good General cannot go down fighting just as MacArthur could not do so.

The “Faker-in-Chief” has the final word and final authority, no arguments.

I just hope General McChrystal writes a scathing best-seller ASAP and that they hit the bookstores before the November elections.

All of America’s enemies are gloating right now and Obambi is like a deer looking into the headlights...

Once the General is retired, or just a civilian, if he resigns his commission,

My own guess is that the Kenyan Clown ends up firing the general. Whether this is couched as a resignation or as a job termination, I have no idea.

Well, it turned out to be termination. The reports are now that the general was relieved of his command by the Kenyan Clown.

Exactly what comments of McChrystal do you believe were in violation of Article 88?

The ones that he had to resign over? He and his staff displayed an incredibly poor sense of judgment around a media outlet, and at his level, you are simply not allowed to make such dumb mistakes.

To somebody who has never served or who wasn't an officer, the comments made by he and his staff may seem innocent, but they aren't. I watched a good friend very nearly ruin his career because he couldn't contain his disgust with Bill Clinton when he was President.

Just as I expected - no answer.

McChrystal expressed his displeasure with Obama to his aides. What was said doesn't matter, and you know it. You want to get into the nitty gritty, let's talk about McChrystal voting for Obama while we are at it. He's obviously got a track record of poor judgment, whether it was supporting Obama in 2008, allowing access to Rolling Stone like he did, or running his mouth around his aides.

It may not seem like a big deal to you or anybody else that has never served in the military as an officer, but let me assure you, it is a big deal. You simply do not do that around the people who serve under you or over you, especially when you have stars on your shoulder.

I saw somebody express their displeasure with Bill Clinton, and it cost them a lot. Many of us were disgusted by Bill Clinton, but this man who had nearly 30 years in, decided to give voice to his disgust, and he paid dearly. He had a chest full of ribbons, had volunteered twice for Vietnam while Clinton was dodging the draft, and he ran his mouth around too many people and it caught up to him.

You don't know anything at all about my military background.
