President Barack Obama said Friday that some members of Congress should share the blame for the Gulf of Mexico oil spill.
In an exclusive one-on-one interview with POLITICO, the president said: “I think it’s fair to say, if six months ago, before this spill had happened, I had gone up to Congress and I had said we need to crack down a lot harder on oil companies and we need to spend more money on technology to respond in case of a catastrophic spill, there are folks up there, who will not be named, who would have said this is classic, big-government overregulation and wasteful spending.”
The president also implied that anti-big government types such as Tea Party activists were being hypocritical on the issue.
“Some of the same folks who have been hollering and saying ‘do something’ are the same folks who, just two or three months ago, were suggesting that government needs to stop doing so much,” Obama said. “Some of the same people who are saying the president needs to show leadership and solve this problem are some of the same folks who, just a few months ago, were saying this guy is trying to engineer a takeover of our society through the federal government that is going to restrict our freedoms.”

The hollering folks are irate that the government is doing too much in areas where they shouldn't tread, yet are not doing nearly enough in those situations where the government should get involved ... like moving swiftly to clean up an oil spill!
He’s actually making up fantasies to try to deflect criticism over his inaction. Does he think that makes him look good? It makes him look even more pathetic than ever.

We’ve had entire threads covering that act, and the responsibility of the President as outlined in that act, yet having read, scanned all the other posts at this time, I see nobody other than you mentioning it.

My friend, I am dead serious about the Obama unbalance. This man should not be allowed to continue as the POTUS. Someone within his own party has to take the bull by the horns, march down to the White House (Like Barry Goldwater did with POTUS Richard Nixon) and tell POTUS Obama he is history and must resign immediately. I agree with you that Obama is going to lose his marbles totally one day soon. I do not want to see that day come, because nothing good will come of it. At present, the USA is without any leader of any sort. Something has to be done SASPO!!! Obama is destroying America on many fronts which in his sick mind he set out to do from day one!!! Ole Rush Limbaugh had this misfit of humanity pegged to a tee!!!

Stick a fork in him, he’s done. Blaming congress, complaining, “what do you want me to do” right after “I take responsibility”...blah....WAY, WAY over his head and its showing..
He needs to be reminded he had a super majority to do anything HE wanted. Which is why he rammed Obama-death-care down our throats. He cannot expect anyone to really believe that six months ago he couldn’t have gotten Pelosi and Reid to ram some more regulations down our throats. They live to do this to the stupid American people. They believe in their elitist hearts we are incapable of living our lives without their telling us what to do every single minute of every single day.
It’s not just a Congress that would oppose him, it’s a Congress that he speculates would have opposed him IF HE’D DONE ANYTHING.
