On Sunday, June 6th Pinal County Sheriff Deputies located the bodies of two Hispanic males in a remote desert area near Interstate 8 and milepost 150. This area is a known smuggling corridor and the area where, just five weeks before, Deputy Louie Puroll was shot and wounded after tracking six individuals who were smuggling drugs. The drug smugglers ambushed Deputy Puroll with a handgun and two AK-47 automatic rifles from different tactical positions.
At approximately 7:30 pm the same day, PCSO Communications Center received a 911 call from a Spanish-speaking male who reported that he and his "partner" had been shot. The caller advised the dispatcher, "I am right here, where they shot the sheriff, on this side." The dispatcher continued to attempt to identify the caller, his injuries and exact location as he repeatedly referenced Deputy Puroll's earlier shooting incident.
The initial call and several subsequent calls were dropped and communication repeatedly re-established. Dispatch remained in contact through a series of calls that lasted approximately 28 minutes when the final call was dropped; the communications dispatcher was unable to re-establish communication with the caller.
Deputies located the men, both deceased, several hours after the initial call. Deputies also located a Bushmaster .223 Automatic Rifle with one of the bodies.
A preliminary report from the autopsies confirm the victims were each struck once by what appears to be an AK-47 type round. Documents located at the crime scene and information provided by the victim on the 911 call strongly suggests both men are Mexican Nationals. Investigators are working with ICE and the Mexican Consulate to attempt to confirm the men's identities and notify next of kin.

Bushmaster .223 “Auto” hmmmmmmmmmmmm.....
ya...I’ll believe it was an “Auto” when somebody competent clarifies they really mean “Auto”.
Also, sounds like the perps got their just desert...er..desserts....er..uh....
According to the MSM they probably got that from a local WalMart.
Yeah, my very forst question automatic... as in semi or fully? A deliberate omission designed to instill fear and propagate the myth that such guns are easily available.
WalMart doesn’t even sell ‘bad’ looking guns anymore. They are all clearly of the hunting genre....once years ago I bought a 9 shot pump Mossberg Persuader 12 gauge, but that apparently became even too ‘evil-looking’ for them.....best you can get in that vein at WM is a mini-14 carbine in 223, if even that.
