Federal safety regulators have launched an investigation into whether floor mats in Ford Motor Co.'s 2010 Fusion and Mercury Milan sedans can trap the gas pedal, causing unintended acceleration.
The investigation follows complaints of a similar nature that sparked the recall of millions of Toyota Motor Corp. vehicles in recent months.

Time to go after another car maker refusing the government tit.
The same regulators that own Govermnet Motors?
Oh come on.
What a scam this government is.
first fed investigation of toyota, now ford...gm sucks...but just another prop pf gm and the unions...oh i forgot...seiu and the underhanded unions with the lying govt sucks
oh yea...total BS from govt as they go pimping for the union whores!
Where’s Hank Reardon when you need him?
“OK youse guys, yeah, you four - go out an buy a Ford.
I know, I know, just buy one, see? Den youse run it into a tree.
Den youse say like “It wuz da CAR dat didit see? - Dat Ford is a hunkajunk an’ almos kilt me!”
This is bullsh1t. Government going after the US company that didn’t need bailing out and being taken over by Obama.
I wasn’t buying it when they went after Toyota and I’m not buying it now. These kinds of things would be happening FAR more often with all different kinds of people because MILLIONS of models of cars are sold and the problem would be very prevalent and be bothering all sorts of drivers of all ages, genders, driving conditions, etc.
Bullsh1t. These are people who mixed up the brake with the accelrator and want to escape blame.
Sorry, typo. Rearden, not Reardon.
I tried to tell you Tex, these cars are more dangerous then a Teeota...
i’ve own and driven many makes of cars over the years...gm vehicles have been and still are the worst of the lot...maybe on par with mopar...the other govt motor company.
If it were not so serious, it would be hilarious. I heard that Toyota finally paid a fine for “the” problem with their accelerators. I figured if they paid a fine, then it means the cause had been discovered, so I checked it out.
Apparently the cause was floor mat slippage. Every car with a gas pedal connected from the top can have that issue. In fact, I’ll bet Ford Fusions even could. ;)
I’m living in a bad “alternate universe” movie where everyone is a moron. I think I’ll name it “Idiocracy”.
Transparency you can believe in.
Well, stop sitting in that chair - it’s rigged to go off on you.
Wheres Hank Reardon when you need him?
He’s finally gone Galt.
When some dude goes cruising down the highway while calling 9-11 to report his car is going nuts, THEN...I’ll believe ity!! /s
