Issa's response to Sestak
House of Representatives ^ | May 28, 2010 | Rep. Darrell Issa

Posted on 05/28/2010 12:19:38 PM PDT by PhilosopherStone1000

“After more than ten weeks of outstanding questions, the White House has offered a version of events that has important differences from what Congressman Sestak has been saying for months – that he was offered a ‘job’ by ‘someone in the White House’ in exchange for leaving the Pennsylvania Senate race.

“I’m very concerned that in the rush to put together this report, the White House has done everything but explain its own actions and has instead worked to craft a story behind closed doors and coordinate with those involved. The White House has admitted today to coordinating an arrangement that would represent an illegal quid-pro-quo as federal law prohibits directly or indirectly offering any position or appointment, paid or unpaid, in exchange for favors connected with an election.

“President Clinton and Congressman Sestak now need to answer questions about what the White House has released today – that at the behest of the White House Chief of staff, they dispatched a former President to get Joe Sestak out of the Pennsylvania Senate Primary. Regardless of what President Clinton or Congressman Sestak now say, it is abundantly clear that this kind of conduct is contrary to President Obama’s pledge to change ‘business as usual’ and that his Administration has engaged in the kind of political shenanigans he once campaigned to end.”

It’s always the coverup that gets them.

I don’t believe Clinton, Sestak or the WH on this one.

If it smells like a coverup it must bre a coverup.

Correct.

I do not believe for one moment President Clinton was the first person on behalf of Obama to contact Sestak. First contacts would have been made by Rahm Emmanuel of some other person. Sestak said nothing but to confirm Clinton’s statement. He did not say Clinton was the only contact.

Keep pressing Issa on earlier contacts. Sestak said “no” to them, then Obama brought in Clinton—why he would help him Obama I do not know.

So I’m guessing that Clinton’s lunch at the White House yesterday featured dead fish.

Looks like now the Obama admin AND Sestak are lying. They will likely get away with it given our fawning press on kneepads for Obama, but they WILL have to explain it all to God after they die. I wonder if people in Heaven are given popcorn for these events?

“...why he would help him Obama I do not know.”

My opinion, guess, whatever is that they both take their marching orders from the same Leftist puppeteers, and had better do as they are told, or get their strings cut at high elevation.

Looking back at the Clinton misAdministration, and comparing that direction with the direction of the current misAdministration one sees an unmistakeable pattern.

He did not say Clinton was the only contact.

In fact, he said just the opposite, the first out of his mouth was that he had had a conversation with a White House official -- Bill Clinton could in no way be described as such.

I don’t expect to ever see the truth of this matter.

Sestak dug himself a hole when he spoke of the bribe, now he must swear to the lie in order to get out of it. You will notice he was very clear not to give his version until Obama and Company came up with theirs.

This should put Toomey in th drivers seat, but it;s Pennsylvania, I do not believe truth , justice, and the American way mean much up there after seeing their previous actions.

For Sestak to even have a chance he cannot run from or equivocate on his earlier statements. It is the only way the stink isn’t going to get on him.

Obama’s cover-up is also a felony.

Time to prepare to impeach this lunatic.

How damn dumb is Clinton? He’s put himself in a position to be prosecuted for a federal crime. They must think it’s going to fly thought or they wouldn’t have done it. Unless Hilliary is looking at a Supreme if Bill hits the sacrifice run.

Wait, isn’t that offering a position in exchange for a cover-up.

Oh what a tangled web they weave.
