Obama's Oily Katrina - This administration is not so slick after all
The Washington Times ^ | May 26, 2010 | Editorial

Posted on 05/26/2010 8:02:18 PM PDT by Abakumov

Back in 2007, then-Sen. Barack Obama critiqued the Bush administration's response to Hurricane Katrina. "There is not a sense of urgency out of this White House and this administration," he declared, two years after the disaster struck. Now, more than a month since the Deepwater Horizon oil rig exploded and sank, with a massive oil spill making landfall on the Gulf coast, Louisiana's Gov. Bobby Jindal is the one calling for "more urgency....

The Gulf oil spill is a case of epic failure for a liberal administration that has force-fit environmental concerns into all aspects of government policy. This is a far worse ecological tragedy than anything caused by global warming, and unlike that bugbear, this is a real, rolling disaster that is causing harm now. Mr. Obama's response to the oil spill has not been very slick.

Obama better pray there isn’t a hurricane down there right now.

Bush caught heck when Blanco wouldn't let him declare LA a disaster BEFORE Katrina hit shore.

Jindal has been begging for help for weeks and Zero is fiddeling and fundraising in CA.

Barack Obama is worse than Jimmy Carter. This administration is worse than a nightmare!

Obama’s in trouble big time on this one. Waiting 37 days...James Carville all over t.v. trying to claim Obama wasn’t told (by anyone) how bad it really is...damage control mode. He’s in big trouble. EPA didn’t tell him? Homeland Security didn’t tell him? Bobby Jindal didn’t tell him? Obama flucked up, and of course CNN’s Carville is trying to protect Obama! TOO LATE. But Obama was busy, there was golf to be played, and fundraisers to attend, vacations to take etc...

And then there is the pattern of bribes...Sestak, Blago, and Abramoff...

Newt Gingrich seems to have found his missing mojo, as he was just on with Greta, talking big and bold, calling Obama incompetent, etc over the oil spill.

I liked Rush’s comments - where are all the Obama “best and brightest” experts now? They were smart enough to run car companies, nationalize healthcare, take over financial systems - - but it’s been over a month now and now of the Wizards of Smart have any clue as to how to “plug the damn leak”?

This will be Obama’s Katrina...except it is a far more egregious failure to act.

Well researched and written. Obama got used to the MSM dutifully ignoring natural disasters that occurred on his watch. Unfortunately, this disaster is not going to go away on it’s own and every day his incompetence and lordly disinterest become ever more obvious.

The Press cannot ignore the growing destruction and furthermore, because of his long-standing contemptuous treatment of them, they are less and less inclined to do so.

Isn’t it ridiculous, the guy who’s screaming ‘green’ isn’t doing a thing to help the environment.

Where are all the libs on this? That whole area is dead, decimated. Not a peep out of em...

The irony of this is overwhelming. With Katrina the governor wouldn’t/didn’t ask the government for help. They blamed Bush anyway.

Jindal has been begging for help, and Obama doesn’t respond. And his lackey’s are trying to blame Bush and Cheney. unreal.

I was beginning to think this whole leak was intentional due to the timing of it being just a few weeks from declaring that more oil was to be drilled.

It smelled of Enviro-wacko terrorism.

Now it seems to me more and more that maybe the Divine has had enough and is cashing Obama’s check.

It may just APPEAR that Obambi is doing nothing serious about the oil spill.

Actually, vacations or not, he's ALWAYS plotting behind the scenes how to destroy our nation and culture. The spill is a great opportunity for him to gain more control.

We all remember the kitchen-wall sampler Michelle cross-stitched for him....."Never Let a Good Crisis Go to Waste, Sweetie Pie".

Try as they will, they will fail.

When you have the tabloid TV shows(of all places) painting Obama’s response in a bad light he’s got BIG trouble.

He is also a complete joke as a leader. Last week saw the worst graduation address to the Cadets at West Point - in the entire history of that fine institution. Next day he tells the military to get ready for war with North Korea. Then he says to "Plug the damn hole" regarding the disaster that continues in the Gulf of Mexico.
Tune in for Tomorrow's Emergency
Brought to us by a leader who is so scared of what has become:

"Obama's Katrina"

That’s because they are only interested in the control that environmental issues have given them over company’s and American people.
It has never really been about the environment, just control.
Look at the evidence, when it suits their agenda, they scream about the environmental damage that blah blah blah will cause, now that they are on the hot seat, nothing, their true colors show.

I’d be okay with that because things are NOT bad enough. The need to wake more people up is very important to turn this 2008 disaster election on its head

What was so urgent two years after Katrina—getting all the liberals back for the next election?

That’s my question.

Where is Sean Penn scooping up injured birds?

And when will the Spike Lee movie come out?
