Amid the ongoing controversy over Arizona's new immigration law, voters by a 2-to-1 margin think individual states should have the right to make their own immigration laws. And a majority of voters would like their own state to follow Arizona's lead.
[snip]
Only about a third of voters -- 34 percent -- think the countrys immigration laws need to be overhauled completely. Sixty-one percent think instead the country needs to enforce the existing immigration laws.
There's much more agreement on the issue of border security. Most people -- 76 percent -- think the current level of security at the countrys borders is not strict enough. Eighteen percent say it's about right and hardly any -- 2 percent -- say "too strict."
U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder -- who publicly questioned the constitutionality of the Arizona immigration law -- recently admitted in Congressional testimony that he hadn't read the law.
A large 83 percent majority of Americans voters thinks it is "shocking" for the attorney general -- the countrys chief law enforcement official -- to question a law he hasn't read. For 12 percent, it's not a big deal.

The Facebook page "Stand With Arizona" has a great "BUYcott" tab (Link here) which they update daily with a complete list of AZ compaies to buy from. Yesterday they began a Seattle boycott, and today they listed Arizona Coffee Roasters to buy from instead. Great resource, 211,000 members is one of the largest conservative pages on Facebook.

Thank you!
Keeping the illegal aliens out of your State is one thing. Keeping the Federal Troops out is another. And if history is any guide, the latter may be more important than the former, especially with the current crop in power.
States should be permitted to adopt whatever policy they like. That way we can see what effect the different policies have. Laboratories for Democracy, and all that.
In every poll, the Indys stand AGAINST the Dems. Pelosi and Reid should be worried.

Actually, states should and do have the right to expect the federal government to uphold it’s laws.
The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.
Amen to that. (I love the U.S. Bill of Rights. Best part o’ the whole dang Constitution.)
hey Elana Kagan does United Nations international Human Rights Laws supercedes America constitution laws ?
BTT!
Ping!
The problem is people are frustrated because the federal govt is not enforcing the laws on the books NOW. They feel powerless. It is probably not a good idea for each state to have their own particular immigration laws, but what is the alternative when you have a federal govt that thumbs its nose at the Constitution as written?
Exactly and Arizona should sue the Feds if they refuse to enforce the law. Selective enforcement is something every judge I have ever seen takes a dim view of.
