Arizona: Boycotts have consequences

Poor reporting also should have consequences.

Recently the City Council of Los Angeles, eager to prove itself as ignorant as the President of the United States, the Attorney General of the US and the Director of Homeland Insecurity, directed city heads to refrain from doing business with the state of Arizona for passing an immigration law that is congruous with Federal Law.

In return, Arizona Corporation Commissioner Gary Pierce responded with a suggestion to the Mayor of Los Angeles. It was widely reported that Pierce threatened to shut off electricity to the city of Los Angeles. These outlets were lightening quick there to point out that Arizona can't do that.

But that's not what Pierce said.

You know, we would have never known about the AZ law if not for the press ranting against it.

LA and San Diego city councils are really ignorant if they think their boycotts will be a one way deal.

I hope AZ can and does cut the power to those 2 crap holes.

The head line should read “Arizona Official Reveals Cluelessness of LA City Council”.

Jerri,

I hope they cut of power AND water to them!
I hope there is no law that would prevent them.

At the very least, if I were in AZ, I would not renew water of power contracts when they expire.

Too harsh?! Go cry on your great big pillows LA, San Diego, Austin, San Fransicko, NYC and Seattle. When you have foreign invaders coming into your state ruining it and costing millions (billions?) in social services, then you might know what it's like for Arizona.

Arizona needs to send everyone they round up to the cities that boycott and the expense of those cities.

They can't do it but they can negotiate contracts and I hope they soak the hell out of them.

The new contracts should include a means of recovering the economic damage inflicted by the boycotts.

It was widely reported that Pierce threatened to shut off electricity to the city of Los Angeles.

And they should do that.

“...When you have foreign invaders coming into your state, ruining it and costing millions...”

That’s the odd part, I live in California, we HAVE foreign invaders coming into our state, ruining it, and costing millions. All I can figure is California is nearly outnumbered and everyone is terrified to make waves what with all the rowdy element and gangs. (Fresno County has many gangs who have taken over some smaller towns.)

That might have something to do with the Right to Keep and Bear arms that you have [or, rather, don have] in California.
{Yes, I know you TECHNICALLY do; but that’s much more like lip-service than anything else.}

Maybe LA can combine the next “Day without Mexicans” with
“Day without electricity”.

now, am I correct in assuming that what he actually suggested (rather than what was reported) is that they should man up and stop purchasing their electricity from AZ as well?

This is far different from threatening to cut power...

He’s trying to prove that dumbass LA mayor to be a hypocrite. If LA is going to rail against AZ and threaten boycott then LA themselves need to cut the power lines or show themselves to be the lying, hypocritical Democrats they truly are.

Yes. His actual suggestion was for LA to “man up and stop buying power from Arizona, since they were supposedly “boycotting” the state. Since he is only one member of a board and the Los Angeles DWP actually owns the power generating capacity. A percentage of a nuclear power plant, a part of a dam, and a part of gas generator totaling 25% of the power used by LA, he can't do anything else but make the suggestion.

This what he said on KFI some days ago.

"That’s the odd part, I live in California, we HAVE foreign invaders coming into our state, ruining it, and costing millions."

And you know what else you have?? The SAME law that AZ has regarding ILLEGALS! So where do these Los Angelans (Angelinos?) get off telling AZ that they can't enforce the same law that CA has??? Unreal!!!
