Democrats weigh value of an Obama endorsement (not much worth, apparently.)

WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama may end up playing a rather hands-off role in this fall's elections, a surprising turn for a political phenomenon who excited millions of voters just two years ago.

Recent elections have tarnished Obama's luster a bit, and Democratic candidates are likely to be selective in seeking his help.

Sen. Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania became the fourth Democrat in seven months to lose a high-profile race despite the president's active involvement. Specter's career-ending loss raises questions of whether Obama can transfer even small portions of the political charm that catapulted him to the White House.

Campaign strategists said Wednesday that many congressional Democrats seeking re-election this year will probably tap Obama to raise money, record ads for black radio stations and perhaps highlight a key issue or two. But some, and perhaps many, will not seek presidential visits, and they will emphasize their own roles on issues such as job-creation.

I hope nobama campaigns for every one of the DIMs. If he doesn’t, the Repubs need to remind voters that nobama is a DIM and the DIM candidates are his minions.

He'd be a huge help in the Kentucky Senate race for Conway.
Zero running around the bluegrass state would be a sight to see.

Let me put it this way: an endorsement from brocko, plus $1.99, will get you a breakfast burrito.

It’s like they’re struggling with this deep, complex and mysterious question. “Hmm. Everyone Obama campaigns for loses, and his endorsements are almost as bad. Hmm. I feel the answer is so close...so obvious, yet just out of reach.”

Recent elections have tarnished Obama's luster a bit...

Mr. Babington doesn't seem very clear on the concept of cause and effect.

It took 6 years for Bush to reach that point. Obama’s done it in two. LOL

Look folks, Obama couldn’t care less. By the time the elections are held, he doesn’t think it will matter. He will control so much of the economy, the bureaucracy, the media and the judiciary that the Legislative will not matter. Even if the Republicans grew or bought a spine (something he highly doubts — and history is on his side in recent decades) they couldn’t possibly stop the juggernaut he and his machine have already set in motion. Think about it — he truly believes it’s “game, set and match,” or “check mate.” The only real hope the nation has WITHIN the system is that Obama is WRONG about the Republicans, and/or ENOUGH people withint the system/bureaucracy/judiciary to force a turn around. Otherwise, nothing short of collapse, unrest, resistance and perhaps rebellion will be the result.

Seems O has little control on the economy these days.

The fall of the Euro is a major defeat to President Obama and his goal of doubling US exports in 5 years.

Frau Merkel rules!
