MILWAUKEE - Oshkosh-based businessman Ron Johnson is announcing his bid for U.S. Senate in Milwaukee.

"After three terms, after 18 years, it's time for (incumbent Democrat) Russ Feingold to retire," Johnson said on 620WTMJ's "Midday with Charlie Sykes."

The Republican candidate gained a lot of good will and attention from party members while speaking at a series of recent Tea Party rallies.

Johnson was also set to make stops in Green Bay and Wausau on Monday.

Nice. McCain and Feingold need to go. That law gave the Dems control of Congress 2006/2008 and Obama the white hut.

Wow. He waited until this late in May? Sounds like a vanity campaign.

It’s not a vanity campaign. Tommy Thompson waited until April 15th to announce he was not going to run for senate. People were waiting for that idiot to make up his mind. Ron Johnson had to get a team together and all the other issues to start a campaign. Ron Johnson is a true blue conservative all around.

I really ought to volunteer some time and help these guys with their sites. It really wouldn’t take much to develop good candidate templates with a set of common tools.

No politically-serious American should ever vote for a senator who’s been in office for 12 years or more.

Power corrupts.

I’ve not liked Feingold since he backed CFR.

I heard Ron talk with Vicki McKenna WISN 1130 am radio this morning and am very impressed. I can’t wait to fire Feingold.

I heard the interview as well. I was hoping he’d run. I’ve been sharing this news and the video of his teaparty speech in Madison this April with friends and family.

Don’t you just LOVE that Vicki is on WISN? I’ve been listening to her since day one.

You should! If you have the skills and time, what better way to help out? No one really thinks of volunteering for the ‘behind the scenes’ stuff, but this is real and tremendously helpful. I know the programming is easy, the debugging is what bogs you down) What a benefit that would be to a conservative candidate, and what a headache lifted if that candidate has a solid conservative working on his site. Perhaps you should send a resume to these candidates.
