Wasn’t the WTC privately owned on 9/11?

Of course the WTC was privately owned. The atheists who complained about the cross did not complain because it was there, they complained because it was (and, I think, still is?) going to be part of the (taxpayer-funded) 9/11 memorial.

I’m not justifying the atheists’ complaints (they’re idiots - that cross is as much a symbol of the aftermath of 9/11 as anything else I can think of, of course it should be part of hte memorial). I’m just saying that the cross protest is not at all analagous to this one.

No, it’s owned by the Port Authority.
