RINGGOLD, Ga. Tonya Craft has been found not guilty on all 22 counts of child molestation, aggravated child molestation and aggravated sexual battery.
The jury returned the verdict after a day of deliberation.
Ms. Craft, a 37-year-old former kindergarten teacher in Chickamauga, was charged with child molestation based on the accounts of three alleged victims.
During the four-week trial, however, the little girls stories were called into question during cross-examination by the defense team.
At times the trial became contentious, with the defense using elaborate timelines on posterboards to poke holes in the case and the prosecution accusing the defense of playing to the media.
I just heard a little bit about this, this morning. If one of the children hadn’t been an actor in a movie where the child was molested, it may have gone the other way.
I did not know what to think about this one. I heard on the news her defense cost $500K, which is a shame if she was truly innocent.
_The Children’s Hour_ effect.
Exactly, or the McMartin Pre-School circus.
Sounds like the Salem Witch Trials.
Read “The Crucible”, by Arthur Miller.
Been there, done that. Very apropos.
O’Reilly will cover this on tonight’s show.
Innocent or not, a child-abuse accusation means one’s life is ruined for good. My heart goes out to her. She ought to have her name legally changed.
Justice doesn’t come cheap. Lawyers have to eat.
Yep - she got McMartined...
“Justice doesnt come cheap. Lawyers have to eat.”
And drive their mercedes.
If she was truly innocent, she should be allowed to sue for damages the school, the families whose children falsely charged her, and the prosecutors. You cannot be allowed to ruin people based on false charges
I’m guessing that’s probably her next step.
Or more recently, the Amirault convictions. Massachusetts prosecutors still pursue their own sick notions of justice.

The innocent Gerald Amirault is still classed as a level three sex offender, and must wear an ankle bracelet monitor at all times. He has received no apology from the state, and no compensation for his unjust incarceration.
I read about this trial, and it appears that Tonya Craft was falsely accused. The judge refused to recuse himself, even though he had represented one of Craft’s ex-husbands during their divorce. Also, the lead prosecutor appears to have been more interested in publicity for himself than the getting to the truth. I hope, at the very least, that the judge is removed from the bench and the lead prosecutor disbarred.
Poor women. Though likely False this could haunt her forever.
