Perhaps of even greater interest, is picture number 3 which is a picture of a P-38 with some rather interesting additions.

I'm pretty sure that was the laminar-flow test platform, referenced here

One P-38E was fitted with an extended central nacelle to accommodate a tandem-seat cockpit with dual controls, and was later fitted with a laminar flow wing.

However, I'm unable to find a picture of it online, other than in the article.

Duh, just using the wrong search string. Many sites with that pic here using P-38E + "laminar flow" to search in Google Images
