Over the next 11 days, the Senate could lose three of its incumbents in primary fights.
For some perspective on how politically stunning that fact is, consider this: since 1980, only seven senators have lost their seat in a primary election. And one of them, Connecticuts Joe Lieberman, rebounded to win the general election.
Now, Utah Republican Sen. Bob Bennett, Arkansas Democratic Sen. Blanche Lincoln, and Pennsylvania Republican-turned-Democratic Sen. Arlen Specter are facing serious intra-party fights to hold on to their seats.
Bennett could lose his seat on Saturday, when 3,500 delegates at the Utah Republican Partys state convention will vote for their partys nominee. Bennett is facing two strong challenges, from attorney Mike Lee and businessman Tim Bridgewater.

In Arkansas, Lincoln is facing two Democrats in the May 18 primary, but her main challenger is Lt. Gov Bill Halter. He is challenging her from the left flank, aided by unions and liberal activists who want to oust the more centrist Lincoln.

Specter switched parties to boost his re-election prospects in the Keystone State, but 2010 could be the year that he couldnt win as a Republican or a Democrat. National and state Democrats initially scoffed at Rep. Joe Sestaks upstart primary bid, and the senator enjoyed months of double-digit polling advantages. But Sestak has steadily closed the gap

I'm going to miss losing the RINO and the two Libtards this month ... and many more like them in November
Their YES on DeathCare was their final act of treason. They declared WAR against We The People; may their names be linked to treason against their country forever.
Obozo -- single-handedly brought down his own party.
Bambi -- out Jimmy Cartered Jimmy Carter.
THE ONE -- not so much anymore....
What’s up with Bennett? Is he a RINO? Probably been there long enough anyway. Term limits are sounding better all the time.
See how hypocritical Dems are when it comes to their moderates?
It’s getting harder and harder to differentiate between a RINO and a Libtard.
As the Left moves HARD Left, the GOP apparently feels it’s necessary to fill in the void. And it’s been going this way for years. GOP nominees have been more Rino each election.
It’s beginning to appear that the next GOP nominee might be more Liberal that SLICK WILLY.
I could see November from my house!....and May, too, for that matter!!!!!!
One thing I've heard is that he promised to only stay two terms. He's running for his fourth.
Grand ain’t it.
Tea party putting some spine into the Republican party.
We are still in the dark about the details of the job Stestak was offered if he didn’t run—hopefully we will hear after November.
May Could Be the Cruelest Month for Senate Incumbents
*************************************
I’m hoping November is the cruelest for Incumbents.
Any sales going on out there on packing boxes; these traitors are going to need truckloads.
The only difference between a lib and an Rino is how fast they take you toward socialism. Libs at 100 mph, Rinos at 50mph.
"Do I gotta say it ?"
I’m thinking of starting a moving company in DC. That business is going to be booming over the next year.
Vowed when first elected to serve more than two terms. Coauthored an 0bamaLite health care program. Voted for TARP, 0bamaCare. Tea Party has him in the sights.
