Homeland Security investigators have narrowed the search to a european-american male, age 58, with a Palin button and a Wall Street Journal subscription.

A little hard to say at this point given that we can barely make him out in those blurry surveillance images.

The van was on its way to an immigration rally but it wasn’t handling right so the driver stopped off at times Sq. to load a few more illegals in the back.

With the multitude of cameras they're bragging about it seems odd that there is no video of the driver getting out of the vehicle and they have to resort to "a person of interest".

You can see the whole video on the NY Post website. It’s a little hard to say what he is - light skinned, but he could also be a light-skinned black. In any case, he didn’t look particularly “furtive.” He just stopped in the middle of the sidewalk, leaned his bag against the post, took off his shirt and stuck it in the bag and then kept on going.

So perhaps they have some other information that is making them look at him. The initial reports indicated that people had seen someone running away from the car, so there must be some actual eye-witness description of him.

So, from that video, they are sure it's a white guy in his around 40 years old?

I don't know how they can say anything from that video, other than it's NOT a black man and it's PROBABLY NOT an Asian (US def. of Asian, not UK def.) man. Any conclusion beyond that is purely wishful liberal thinking.

And for the life of me I can't figure this statement out...

So you have the vehicle on camera and the windows are tinted. Okay, fair enough.

I think there will be an arrest today or tomorrow. The vehicle is the key. The perp tried to grind off the VIN numbers and used a stolen tag. I think the perp will turn out to be the vehicle owner or close to the vehicle owner. He thought the fire would destroy the rest of the evidence, but did not realize VIN and other traceable numbers a embedded in dozens of places today.

Having been in Times Square thousands of times I find this particular aaprobation of an 'alleyway' to be ridiculous. First, if they have this video with the guy this close to 'the' car they must surely have him driving up, parking and exiting the vehicle from the 'driver's side!' Otherwise, why focus on him. Hundreds of people passing by him, but he figures this is a great place to 'change' identities?????????? This looks like an ordinary NYC moron who stopped to take off a sweater because WALKING around TSQ is a hot thing to do!

If they really have video of this guy exiting 'the' car, then show it! If you have fingerprints or a motorist ID show it on TV and the internet. Let's see who owns the car. Show his picture! Was the car stolen? Typical police and Bloomberg crap! They're probably more concerned that a pretzel vendor is using too much SALT! Keystone cops!

Give me a break. The guy is standing in the middle of a busy walkway, making absolutely zero effort to conceal his activity. He's taking off a top shirt on an 85 degree evening.

My bet? Just left his air conditioned work place (it was about 6:30 pm), carrying his briefcase, realized it was hotter than he thought and paused to get cooler. After he removes the one shirt he walks away, he doesn't hurry at all.

this seems like a fishing expedition. First, saying the guy is white is just a way to get attention away from middle easterners. I know plenty of people of middle east descent that have lighter skin. This person liked like he had a beard, but that was not mentioned, I wonder why?
