Police investigating the failed car bomb attack on Times Square in New York are focussing their attention on surveillance footage of a white man seen shedding his shirt near the SUV where the bomb was found.
The unidientified man, who appears to be in his 40s, is seen on the footage looking furtively over his shoulder and removing a dark shirt, revealing a red one underneath. The man then stuffs the dark shirt into a bag, officials said.
Investigators are also examining eight bags of a non-explosive grade of fertiliser which was found in a metal rifle cabinet amongst the other materials in the Nissan Pathfinder, including gasoline, propane, firecracks and alarm clocks.

Surveillance video released by the New York Police today shows a man, right, removing a dark shirt in an alleyway.
He reveals a red shirt underneath stuffs the dark one in a bag.
He then picks up the bag and walks away.
Looks like the NYPD has its eyes on the domestic terrorist.
I can’t tell if he’s “white” or light skinned?
They are sure in a hurry to call him a “white man.” All they can say is light-skinned, but now he’s conclusively “white.”
By this definition, Mo Atta and company were “white.”

IMO, this is the NYPD’s ‘white van’. IOW, it’s unrelated.

He’s in the middle of the walking path...not to the side...and he’s taking one shirt off...Probably came out of an air conditioned place...too warm for him and he decided to take one of his shirts off. I do it all the time.
Exactly. My husband and I were just saying the same thing. He’s fair-skinned but so are many Arabs.

Considering that it was 84 degrees in NYC on that day, what is so unusual about a man deciding he’s warm, taking off his outer shirt, and putting it in his backpack? Maybe he’d just come out of an air-conditioned area.
Yet they rarely ever mention race when the suspect is black. In any case, the guy could well be white, possibly light-skinned middle eastern or radical left nut job “celebrating” communist May Day.

He looks Iranian to me. Iranians are white. So are many middle easterners. Skin color doesn’t determine nationality.
