A senior U.S. official said last week that there are signs North Korean leader Kim Jong-Il will visit China in the coming weeks. A senior House member disclosed during a hearing last week that the threat of long-range missiles from North Korea and Iran is increasing, and the data contradicts intelligence used by the Obama administration in canceling a planned missile defense base in Eastern Europe.
Rep. Michael Turner, R-Ohio, said during a House Armed Services strategic forces subcommittee hearing last week that new intelligence indicates the threat from longer range missiles may be nearer.
We know that the threat is changing and our missile defense plans must be flexible to those changes, Turner said.
A year ago, the administration concluded that the long-range threat was not materializing as rapidly as once thought. However, since then, new details are emerging on both North Korea's and Iran's long-range missile programs that should be grounds for the administration to revisit the assumptions behind its policy changes.
The director of the Pentagons missile defense agency said that the agency is prepared to speed up deployments of long-range missile interceptors if the threat emerges more quickly than intelligence estimates.
Lt. Gen. Patrick OReilly, MDA director, was asked if North Korea or Iran were to emerge more quickly with an ICBM armed with a nuclear warhead if the Pentagon could respond.
We will by the end of this year have 30 in place [Ground Based Interceptors], he said. In the case of North Korea, looking at the geometries of the tests we've already conducted, and the geometries of a launch coming out of North Korea and interceptors coming out of Alaska, we have demonstrated that capability to intercept.

I guess The One figures he'd be safe in the White House bunker, since any Iranian ICBM is going to not have that high yield of a warhead, and likely not be all that accurate. Or that he could helicopter out in Marine One to that "undisclosed location" before the imcoming landed.
Of course his constitutents in DC would be SOL.
Not to worry Hussein will be in a safe warm place playing gulf... far from the madding crowd in DC.
