The Zogby Interactive poll of 2,108 adults conducted from April 16-19 also found broad support for major immigration reform and immigration regulations that are more restrictive.79% do not agree that illegal aliens are entitled to the same rights and basic freedoms as U.S. citizens.
Liberals are the only ideological group where more agree (49%) than disagree (46%) that illegal aliens have those rights.
Both Congress and President Barack Obama get very low on their handling of the immigration issue. Just 7% give Congress positive grades of excellent or good, and 21% give Obama positive marks.

The word “illegal” needs to be constantly stressed in every sentence in order to frame the conversation and win the debate.

NO they don’t want equal rights. Equal rights means they have the right to be prosecuted for committing crimes (crossing border illegally, and various employment related crimes).
They want special rights making them immune to prosecution. Something US Citizens don’t even get.
Leftists apparently believe that illegals actually have more rights than US citizens. Illegal aliens or resident aliens for that matter are not required to obey the federal health care mandates.
We should also stop using the word “immigrants”.

That’s insane and ignorant. That number should be 100%. There are actually people out there who think that illegal aliens should have exactly the same rights they have?
So what’s the point of having citizenship in the first place? Do they want to open up the borders to anyone who wants to come in, no questions asked? If so, I want us to drop all of them off right in front of their houses.

Attention All Politicians: Pay very close attention to what this poll is saying, if you have any intention of keeping your jobs.
Ignore these numbers and go on the record as being in opposition to Arizona's new immigration enforcement law at your peril.
