I read the Arizona proposed law and it did not mention BHO anywhere. It mentioned candidates running for POTUS on Arizona ballots. This is a law that applies to anyone running, not just BHO.

The White House seems very testy over a state actually setting up a mechanism that will ask for proof of one of the Constitutional requirements for a president. Although Obama might be the first incumbent president that will be affected it affects all presidential candidate equally and is a fair law...despite their howls of protestation.

I hope the law specifies that the birth certificate must be the long-form original reflecting the hospital and doctor’s signature. Hawaii apparently claims their “Certification of Live Birth” abstract, which is all that Obama’s shown and which does not include that info, is good for all legal purposes, and he might try to use that.

Actually, under the definition of “Natural Born,” this should require the birth certificates for the candidate and the candidate’s parents. Natural Born requires both parents to be citizens.

No presidential candidate should be required by law to show their birth certificate.

However, the hospital where the candidate was born should be required by law to send a certified copy of the birth certificate to every state house in America before the candidate is placed on the ballot.
