U.S. SENATE RACE: Poll: Reid loses full ballot test
Las Vegas Review ^ | Apr. 16, 2010 | By LAURA MYERS

U.S. Sen. Harry Reid must pick up far more support from crossover Republicans and independents to win re-election, according to a new poll that shows him losing to the GOP front-runner in a full-ballot election with eight contenders and a "none of these candidates" option.

The survey of Nevada voters commissioned by the Review-Journal shows Reid getting 37 percent of the vote compared with 47 percent for Republican Sue Lowden, who would win if the election were today, while the slate of third-party and nonpartisan candidates would get slim to no backing.

Uh, maybe Harry shouldn’t have been so worried that the war in Iraq was lost. Maybe he should have been worrying about his own failed reelection effort.

The Nevada Tea Party’s decision to back a dark horse candidate increases Reids odds of being reelected by 50% in my opinion. Combine that with the huge disparity in campaign cash available to dingy harry...and we might get state version of Perot in 92.

Is that what we want? Not me.

The so called “Tea Party” candidate that is running is not affiliated with the Tea Party movement in any way and this was clearly stated at the Searchlight Tea Party. This candidate simply created his own party and called it Tea Party in order to confuse and split the vote. The Tea Party movement that was started last year and continues today is not a political party.

Money talks, and the SML has it by the boatload. He’ll close the gap between now and November in my view if for no other reason than he can flood the airwaves with campaign commercials.

I’m not in Nevada, so perhaps I see this differently.

I believe if the GOP doesn’t take both the House and Senate back this fall, the nation is doomed to a horrific downturn across the board that makes what we’ve seen since 2007 look like a walk in the park.

To avert this, the GOP has to take back both the House AND the Senatem, in my opinion.

Reid wins reelection by 100 votes...the GOp does not retake the Senate. Thats more important to me than anything else, getting him and Pelosi out of their powerful positions, and repudiating the Owe-bama administration.
