Palin: 'Oh, no you don’t'

BOSTON -- Sarah Palin struck many of the same anti-Obama, anti-big-government notes she has in previous speeches pumping up Tea Party crowds, but there was also a seemingly renewed focus on the 2010 midterm elections.

“Let’s get it together,” said the former Alaska governor, clad in a red leather jacket. “From now until November, when they say, 'Yes we can,' we're gonna all say, 'Oh, no you don't,' because we're taking it back.”

In November, she said, the we-know-better-than-you government “is fired.”

She implored the crowd, “Don’t shut up. You’re sounding the warning bell. … We see what’s at stake.” Subtly acknowledging her role as a de facto Tea Party leader, she said, “This isn’t about a single politician; this is about the people.”

She rejected the notion that the Obama administration’s efforts to right the economy have worked.

“They’re obviously digging us deeper into a hole,” she said.

She added that “Obamacare” is the “mother of all unfunded mandates.”

She was pretty good today. That "Oh no you don't" is gonna stick around, I reckon.

““From now until November, when they say, ‘Yes we can,’ we’re gonna all say, ‘Oh, no you don’t,’ because we’re taking it back.”

I like it.

Meantime, I’m out of chocolate chip cookies, which I want NOW, the wife has the car and I’m too bloody lazy to walk 3 miles to the store. Geez, I hate this stuff.

jazusamo, I was having a discussion with a somewhat reasonable liberal here, and I attempted to invoke Thomas Sowell...to no avail. (Funny...as I was talking, your name popped into my head!)

A well-dressed black gentleman came over and began talking with us. (This description makes him sound older, he actually seemed to be about 30)

He was interested in what we thought people living in poverty should do in this society, and I presume he asked us due to our ostensible status as conservatives who “don’t care about poor people”. I asked him if he ever read any work by Thomas Sowell, because my opinion on the subject is based directly on his work. I told him that in our society, people who start out in low-paying jobs don’t stay there, and shouldn’t stay there if they wish to get ahead. I pointed out that American history is full of people who started out with absolutely nothing, in poverty and brought themselves up on their own without the help of the government. It is one of the reasons why people still flock to this country from all over the world, because the only boundary to your success is you. It’s not like some parts the world to have a permanent underclass or caste system that people are unable to escape from. The guy wasn’t interested in hearing this particular point of view, and persisted in asking what we thought people in poverty who can’t pay for an education should do. I reiterated that one of the things that makes this country great (or at least has in past) is that people who don’t have the means but have the desire can better themselves through their own hard work. This guy was a very reasonable guy, but he wasn’t really interested in my point of view, he was interested in validating his point of view.

Shopping hint from Grandma: Next time you have the car, go to the nearest Sam’s. You can buy Pillsbury Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough in a 5 gallon tub - not very expensive and then you can make how many ever you want whenever you want! They are awesome. As good as any homemade.

Benjamin Franklin was an indentured bond servant.

Case in point, GB...case in point! Good one.

Franklin was an interesting guy, no doubt, but he sure did do some underhanded political maneuvering (like Jefferson)

I was there today. As much as I agree with her, I can’t stand her screeching voice. It’s like a fingernail on a blackboard. She is just not presidential. She is Obama’s best ticket to another 4 years. You betcha, nub......

Apparently, you think Obama is more presidential than Sarah.

While it’s debatable how much or if ultimately the health reform bill will cut the deficit

Only if you are in a straight jacket inside a rubber room (Or worse yet a RAT loving hack). How many people actually believed this bold in your face lie?
