Nuclear Fantasies and Realities

President Obama released a new policy on the use of nuclear weapons the other day. From some of the reactions, I expected that on every government building, the Stars and Stripes would be replaced with a white flag of surrender.

Rudy Giuliani lamented that Obama bases his security policy on the charming belief that "we can all hold hands, sing songs, and have peace symbols." Former United Nations ambassador John Bolton said the plan puts America "on the road to nuclear impotence."

When word leaked that Obama was considering removing terms like "militant Islamic radicalism" and "jihad" from his national security strategy, everyone was shocked! Obama has a national security strategy???

The Associated Press chirped that, by nixing terms deemed offensive by people who kill thousands of people in the name of Islam, Obama fulfills his "promised" "'new beginning' in the relationship between the United States and the Muslim world."

If Obama's ridiculous theory is correct, words like "Islamic radicalism" in the government's National Security Strategy document drove Abdulmutallab to light his underwear bomb and compelled the Fort Hood shooter to engage in a killing spree while screaming "Allahu Akhbar!". Now, if Obama would just purge the "jihad" from jihadists, everything would be wonderful.

As even the AP admits, President George W. Bush "gave the White House its first Quran, hosted its first Iftar dinner to celebrate Ramadan, and loudly stated support for Muslim democracies like Turkey," but it was terminology used in some government document that drove peace-loving Muslims like Hasan and Abdulmutallab completely bananas. Air Marshal on DC to Denver flight tonight: Hey, don't light that shoe! Didn't you hear? Obama deleted "Islamic radicalism" from the NSS document!

(In fairness, the AP notes that -- at the time -- it "wasn't immediately clear what the man was trying to do -- something harmful like start a fire or explosion," or something innocent like smoking a shoe. It now turns out the chronic Bruno Magli smoker was merely trying to cop a smoke of the non-footwear kind in the boy's room, so move on, nothing to see here.)

Furious that Obama's limp-wristed, namby-pamby wussy pantywaist approach was being criticized, Juan Williams of Fox News insisted hysterically that "this is an administration that's using drones aggressively to go after terrorists" -- as if we didn't already know about Obama's drones, like Juan Williams.

Liberals insist that changing terminology in government paperwork will have a transformative effect on the Muslim world, turning your typical underwear or shoe or car-bomber into a ballerina boy. The same libbies insist that seeing things through the lens of that ruthless terror-hunter Jimmy Carter and not profiling Muslim terrorists as "Muslim terrorists" will have zero effect on U.S. troop morale and mission clarity.

The problem is Obama's getting Fantasy Island so overly populated with fantasies that it will tip over and capsize. The fantasies are along the lines of: World without Israel (read: 'Jooos') -- good; appeasement -- good; American exceptionalism -- hate crime; rogue states -- potential friends; nukes -- evil, if in the wrong hands, i.e., America and Israel. Already his newly-minted, Susan Sarandon approach to nuke weapons policy (which consists of disarming) is working just as swimmingly -- yielding a belly laugh from little man Ahmadinejad, who dismissed Obama as a little man. Obama vowed not to use nukes against non-nuclear countries that attack us with chemical or biological weapons. Feel safer yet? Change you can disbelieve in.

Anyway, that's...
My Two Cents...

I wouldn’t be surprised if he and his cronies don’t believe some form of “green” weapons shouldn’t be developed. Something that kills our adversaries without destroying the infrastructure. (Drones with gas?)

It appears possible that at this moment Obama is being rolled in his nuclear treaty with the Russians. Have the Russians threatened to walk out unless he caves and surrenders more? He will cave before looking bad to his adoring left.

Well treaties need to be ratified and that could take a while. Hopefully it will drag on until after the 2010 elections.

If Emperor-by-Trick Hussein is FOR it, it is against
the American people.

The Democrats in general, and the Kenyan in particular,
are traitors (if they are even US citizens).
