Christians Stand Up To Glenn Beck [The White Man's "Jeremiah Wright" Hits Back At Glenn Beck]

Christians Stand Up To Glenn Beck

By Jim Wallis Saturday, March 27

Glenn Beck has picked a fight with me, but he recently started a more troubling battle with the nation's churches with his criticism that "social justice" is "code" for "communism" and "Nazism," and that Christians should leave their churches if they preach, practice or even have the phrase on their Web site.

While Beck initially claimed that "social justice is a perversion of the Gospel," he now suggests his concern was really the association of the phrase with "Big Government." He even adds that when "social justice" refers simply to individual charity, it is permissible to him. But for millions of people, this is not a joking matter. Christians across the theological and political spectrum believe that social justice is central to the teachings of Jesus and at the heart of biblical faith. Because Christians couldn't "turn in" their pastors to "church authorities" as Beck suggested (the pope would turn himself into . . . himself), many have started turning themselves in to Beck as "social justice Christians" -- 50,000 at last count.

Journalists, cable and radio talk shows, and even Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert have reported on or spoofed Beck's attempt to discredit this concept. What might be lost in all this are the facts that a commitment to social justice unites Christian churches of different doctrinal and political beliefs. Even leaders in Beck's own church and scholars of Mormonism have made it clear that they believe social justice is integral to their faith and that they want it known he doesn't speak for the church.

That seemed like a pretty dishonest representation of what Beck actually said. Beck made it clear that different people mean totally, totally different things by “social justice”

Social Justice definition:

Social Justice also known as economic justice, is a term describing the redistribution of wealth for the common good of all.

However, this comes at the expense of wage earners and liberty by demanding a society to conform. Those who work and have must give to those who don’t work and don’t have.

This is the fundamental basis of Marxism and championed by liberal progressives. Everyone shall have equal advantages and everyone will have equal disadvantages. In reality it creates two classes, those with power and everyone else.

Only if they're as whacked out as Wallis.

This article is just ridiculous. Beck is not anti-christian, FGS. I hear this rot a few weeks ago and tuned into him to see exactly what he was saying. Beck is Pro-God... anti-socialist. If you espouse “forced” charity, then he is against you.

As I said on the WarshPost comments thread associated with this article ~ you can be a Christian or you can be a Socialist, but you can't be both.

That sent the Leftwingtards into a tizzy ~ whole lot of hate posts directed my way, and disparaging notes, etc.

This Wallis guy is a Commie POS and they just can't stand that he was so easily outed.

No doubt!

So- if you click on a social justice link on your churches web site and it goes to “The American communist party” web site, that’s not communist???

Many churches themselves have no idea whats on their web site and Glenn has a perfectly valid point.

Glenn isn’t battling with Christians, he’s battling with demons in Christian clothing.

A Tree and Its Fruit
Matthew 7: 15”Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. 16By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? 17Likewise every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. 19Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.

21”Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’ 23Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’
