CINCINNATI -- As health care reform takes a step forward, some members of Congress who voted yes, including local Congressman Steve Driehaus, are receiving threats.
"We've had some threatening calls to the office. My wife won't let the kids answer the phone at home. Not that, you know, we've got a lot of thank you calls far more than we've got threats," Driehaus said Wednesday.
However, the publication The Whistleblower published Driehaus' home address with a link that included directions.
The publication is asking its readers to protest at the Congressman's home Sunday.
When 9News went to Jim Schifrin's home, the man who publishes The Whistleblower, he and his family had no comment.
"People are intending to protest in front of my house on Sunday. And you know, my wife and kids are there, said Driehaus.
It's one thing for people to disagree with the vote. I would love for them to talk about what's in the bill or focus on what's in the bill. And I'm happy to have that conversation with them. But I think appearing at my house and trying to intimidate me or my family is just wildly out of bounds," Driehaus said.
Driehaus went on to say he has not asked for extra security. However, there is growing concern in Washington after at least 10 other Democratic law makers say they've received threats.
"The leadership is concerned about the number of threats that have come into our offices," said Driehaus.
The most ironic thing is that this whine is exactly the same whine Stupack made before he switched sides. When he was opposed to the Obama baby killin’ it was reasonable protest. When he’s for baby killin’ any opposition is a terrible crime. They simply have to be called on their lies every day and every time they appear in public.
Didn’t gay activists in California use names, taken from the petition that put Proposition 8 on the ballot, to harass and threaten ordinary citizens who were against gay marriage?
I think that bill you passed that undermined the Constitution is just wildly out of bounds. Maybe if you had considered how strongly people opposed that law, you wouldn't be in this situation.
This is WAR FOR FREEDOM, Buddy!! GROW UP!! WE ARE NOT YOUR SUBJECTS...WE ARE YOUR BOSSES!!!!
Keep applying the pressure. Force them out of office for fear of what will happen. They deserve everything that is coming their way.
Screw 'em.
Around here, local construction unions have been known to protest the homes of local non-union contractors, because they have the audacity to not hire union labor. Cry me a friggin' river.
I’ve met Portman and Driehaus;Driehaus comes across as too impressed with himself(like most socialists).
Violating the US Constitution and your oath “is just wildly out of bounds.”
Most in the Democrat Socialist party act as if they've forgotten that ... it's time to remind them that votes have consequences.
So what?
This is not North Korea..not yet anyways. The free American people can legally protest anywhere they want, especially in front of the house of a guy that just carried out treason against the American people.
Not trying to intimidate you.
You wouldn’t listen before...now you get to hear it even more.
“I’d love to talk about whats in the bill...” We KNOW what in the bill and none of it is good for anyone but the dingleberry hangers-on.
Whiney beitch.
They can dish it out, but can't take it. Remember the busloads of folks that were carted around during the TARP crap?
Right, we’re just a bunch of stupid ignorant sheep. We can hardly wait for you to define what’s in the bill. Which is why you ignored us, refused to take our calls and shut down your web site while you were hiding in the chambers when the vote was taking place.
You wonder why so much anger? That’s because we already know what is in the bill you so arrogantly crammed up our a$$es.
You think this is bad, wait until November! You pompous prick!
“Survey USA: Challenger Chabot Waxes Incumbent Driehaus
Im beginning to enjoy these Survey USA/FDL polls. Yesterday they showed incumbent Vic Snyder trailing challenger Tim Griffin by 17 points. By the end of the day, Snyder was out of the race. Today they show former Congressman Steve Chabot - who lost to Steve Driehaus in a close race - trouncing him in the rematch:
If there were an election for US House of Representatives today, and the only two candidates on the ballot were Democrat Steve Driehaus and Republican Steve Chabot, who would you vote for?
Steve Driehaus (D) 39%
Steve Chabot (R ) 56%
Undecided 5%
Do you approve or disapprove of the job Barack Obama is doing as President?
Approve 42%
Disapprove 55%
Not Sure 3%”

Sucker's history!
I would wager to say that the wives and kids of those bank CEO’s were at home when busloads of SEIU and ACORN thugs showed up at their homes. Mr Driehaus you are a coward of the worst sort.
People always say elections have consequences. So do votes.
Exactly. We tried civil discourse before they passed this monstrosity. Republicans were shut out of crafting the legislation. They were shut out of the debate. There were no hearings, no consultations with doctors, or economists, or businesses, or drug companies. It was rammed through with almost no time to even read it. Obama had a six hour dog and pony show with critics, which he promptly dismissed. The crooked process with which they passed it was also thoroughly opposed by most voters. We begged for a debate, and were denied. They wouldn't acknowledge us when we were polite, now we are more surly.
Many of them were too arrogant to show up to town hall meetings this past year . . . so we’ll show up at their house now that they think they own us.
