You’re right Katie...I never liked that line of logic when Bush trotted it out. It is a politically correct argument that avopids the real truth. Al Queda doesn’t hate us because of our freedom, they hate us because their religion tells them to.

Although, as a practical matter, there are some freedoms - like the freedom of religion and free expression (hello Danish cartoonists) - that they most certainly do hate. But, it's our status as "infidels" that drives them to jihad against us, nothing else.

There is truth in that. They also hate us because we had troops in Saudi Arabia. Since we moved our troops out, I guess they kinda got there way. Fine, I guess. I don’t like the idea of being the worlds policemen.
