The Machine Just Got Bigger
Constitution Party ^ | March 23, 2010 | Dr. Bernhard Stengstock

Off the heels of the Health Care Reform vote last night, we are all faced with the fact that the Government Machine just got a whole lot bigger and more powerful. Those Americans who value individual responsibility and limited government are in mourning today, as the US Government just pulled off the biggest power grab in American History.

As a Physician, I know that there are two things that dominate the consciousness of most people. The first is money, and the second is health care. Go to any party or social event, and those two topics are the ones that will discussed more than any others. The government already has control of your money. From the Federal Reserve’s manipulation of interest rates, Income Tax, Property Tax, Corporate Tax, and Sales Tax, hard working Americans are lucky if they are able to keep 50 cents on the dollar for their own personal use. And if you refuse to pay the Government, that does not stop them. They will just go into your account and take the money that they say you owe them. So in effect, it is not really your money, and it is not really your bank account. It is shared with the Government. And if you think you own your property, think again. Try not paying your property taxes, and see what happens. The government owns your property, you are just a renter.

Now, for the first time in American History, the US Government now also owns your health care. Employers will have no choice but to offer health care to their workers. If they refuse, they will be fined. This means that many people are going to lose their jobs, or suffer decreased wages as employers fight to maintain the bottom line. The doctors will not be at the mercy of the Government, and in effect, become government employees, as all of the health care services that are provided in the doctor’s office will be billed to a single payer, the US Government. The Doctor will have to hope that the Government bureaucrats and panels find their services medically necessary, or else the Doctor will not get paid. The patient is also in jeopardy, as now they also must rely upon government agents to determine if the care that they desire to receive for their condition is considered necessary. Generations of tax payers will also suffer, for they are the ones who are going to be forced to pay for all this.

Not all Americans will have to pay, just the ones that work hard and earn a good living. They are the ones that will be forced to carry the burden of health care costs for others. So if Joe Palooka wants to smoke cigarettes, drink beer all day, and eat junk food, and then gets sick, Joe Taxpayer will be forced to pay for his health care. Even more disturbing, Joe Taxpayer will be forced to contribute to health care services for others that they may be adamantly against, such as abortion.

This is a sad day in America, as the Constitution has been dragged through the mud and totally disregarded. Hearing Speaker Pelosi state that health care insurance is now a right, not a privilege, made the hair on the back of my neck stand up. Rights come from God, not government. The Governments job is to protect and secure those rights, not create them. There is nowhere in the Constitution that allows or makes provisions for government control of health care. And if it is not specifically delegated to the federal government by the constitution, then it is a state issue, not a federal government issue.

The only silver lining in this cloud of socialism is that maybe, just maybe, the American people will finally speak out, and vote only for those candidates that will honor their pledge to support and uphold the Constitution of the United States, and not succumb to special interests and Washington influence.

When the government merely asserted jurisdiction over commerce in material things, it still hadn’t asserted itself over your very existence – but because the care of your body is the care of your very self, and because everyone at some time needs healthcare services, the government has now made that leap to absolute rule.

Is this the same Constitution Party that caused Gordon Smith of Oregon to lose his re-election campaign? The 5% the Constitution Party candidate won would have put a reasonably conservative Senator back in Washington, D.C.

Way to go boutique voters! Really taught him a lesson!

I can’t argue that the CP is an election spoiler, but the good doctor is right.

Au contraire: I will own the lumber, drywall, paint, whiskey and cigarettes stored in my garage. I will also own the contact information for the various hookers I’ll have on retainer. The only way I’m sharing that wealth is if you have something of value to trade in return, or have cash. If you are the local cop, you can have some of the whiskey just so you look the other way.

And that’s the way our economy will function in a few years. Just like it did back in the USSR.

We will not be able to attack the Big Government in Washington directly.

Our greatest weapon remain competition between Governments, to drag the inherently wasteful governments under.

That means we need to kill the Federal governments ability to resist the States so that the States may be uses to take power from the Feds. Our States will then in turn be able to experiment and ultimately gain advantage from greater and greater levels of freedom.
The competition between our States for people and business will in turn force them to embrace ever more levels of freedom.

The problem is the tenticals of Federal control come from Federal money tit, which is in essence a form of blackmail, if the state doesn’t follow the federal orders or step out of line the Feds take the states money and give it to the states competition.

This MUST END! and the Republican party above all general goals must be commuted to ending this! Our entire platform of freedom in the long run is depended upon using the forces of competition to end what politically cant be ended(corruption).

The problem with the Feds cutting funds is if they do it to too many States, they overplay their hand and hurt themselves. Ultimately the States get off the federal tit and the feds loose all influence, or better yet they successfully implement a Federal Tax Escrow account and rob the Feds of their ability to implement unconstitutional blackmail against them.

One thing we should be shooting for in the republican party is a commitment NEVER to target ANY state for ANY reason!

We must force Republicans in congress take any effort particularity when they get the power to stop such.

We must weaken the Federal governments ability to respond to the States and ultimately cut all such financial influence, permanently, on all matters, as any one matter can easily be shifted to others.

There must be competition between the States for Government to lose, and freedom to win. We will not win theses political battles against Big Government In Washington D.C. nor directly in the Statehouses, instead we must rely upon free market competition between the States to FORCE them to downsize!

The only difference is that, in the USSR, it was vodka instead of whiskey ("may I interest you in some Stolichnaya, comrade officer?").

If you got Stoli you were one heck of a black marketeer. That was the "good stuff" reserved for export. Most domestic consumption was little better than Samogan. Me? I'll probably just get your typical Kentucky bourbon, like this:

America -- a great idea, didn't last.

"A republic, if you can keep it," said Benjamin Franklin to a lady who asked what type of government the Constitutional Convention had established. There may not be much keeping going on, but America is still worth the fight.
