Palin: Health Care Vote a "Clarion Call" to Action
CBS News ^ | March 22, 2010 | Stephanie Condon

Posted on 03/22/2010 3:17:44 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

Calling yesterday's health care vote a "clarion call and a spur to action," former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin urged conservative citizens today to make the Democrats' health reform package a top issue in this fall's midterm elections.

"In the weeks to come, we can expect [Congress] to try to change the subject, but we won't forget," Palin wrote in a Facebook note. "Don't let them move on to further 'transformational' steps while forgetting what Congress just did against the will of the people."

Blasting the bill for the new taxes and bureaucracy it will create, Palin said, "This unsustainable bill jeopardizes the very thing it was supposed to fix - our health care system."

She also excoriated Democrats for "corrupt deals" and "the corrupt process," and she specifically called out "those who promised to hold firm against government funding of abortion, but caved at the last minute" -- namely, Rep. Bart Stupak (D-Mich.) and a handful of other anti-abortion rights Democrats.

Palin calls for the repeal of portions of the Democrats' bill, though she does not expressly say what parts.

Meanwhile, another high-profile Republican and possible 2012 contenter, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, also today called for the bill to be repealed. He wrote at the National Review Online that "America has just witnessed an unconscionable abuse of power."

In spite of the comparisons often made between President Obama's health care plan and Romney's Massachusetts health care plan, Romney says that Mr. Obama's " health-care bill is unhealthy for America."

White House senior adviser David Axelrod has called the Massachusetts plan "the template for what we're trying to do here."(continued)

Our plan must involved 3 remaining options in such order so that we may show the world our grievance are real and severe! That we have done everything with in our peaceful and legal options to obtain redress for theses grievances only to be denied such by the tyrannical dictates of a now clearly Constitution-less and ILLEGITIMATE Federal government.

1st: Litigation, We must give the Federal court a FAIR chance to right itself, or we will be no better then the Tyrants that have brought this abomination upon us.

2nd: Nullification, Interposition, and Civil disobedience in regard to this abomination. Regardless of the edict of the Federal employees in black robes, we the People will not surrender our Constitutional right to self-determination and self-government to the Federal government.

3rd: Should all else fail within a decades time we will finish our push for Revolution-secession and/or Revolution within union with the other 49 States.

This must be done the right way if we are to clam the natural necessity and justice of our actions to defend our rights.

They must be given every opportunity in the world to either correct themselves (and respect our Constitutionally protected rights) or demonstrate openly to the fair judgment of the world their blatant refusal to respect the Rights of their people protected by their limited Constitution of Civil government.

While I share many of your negativity with the effectiveness of theses before mentioned measure prior to secession and outright revolutionary war. They must be exhausted before we invoke the final necessary measure to defend our rights.

We have already begun this process as many of us have been in anticipation of congresses choice, preparing for them.
Now theses acts have as expected become our only remaining options for the preservation of our rights and liberty as Americans.

I like Palin, but she either needs to put her hat in the ring for 2012, take steele’s job, or sit down.

It is too early for any candidate for 2012 to declare. After the November elections, then yes. And I believe she will, and that she will win.

It’s only early Spring of 2010. Just because Mr. Obama is always running for office, should conservatives ape his actions?

Oh, they’ll change the subject all right. Amnesty for all!

How’s THAT going to fly with the voters?

I think the Democrat strategy is “if you’re going to piss off the country, you might as well go all out and get what you want.”

First, someone needs to step up and lead on the clarion issues of our time. True leadership will determine who will lead the American people out of the darkness of socialism and back into the light of freedom and liberty. Cat calls from slick politicians and tweeter comments won't cut it. I have no idea who that could be, but I suspect whoever is credited with leading a national campaign for taking back the House and/or Senate could assume that mantel.

First, someone needs to step up and lead on the clarion issues of our time.

Number one on that short list of "people who have stepped up and spoken out against this communist takeover" would be Sarah Palin.

Number two would be Michele Bachmann.

Number three would be Jim DeMint.

Cat calls from the ankle-biters, Romney-bots, Gay Brigades, or any more capitulation from the nutless, gutless RINOs are not any help.

In the weeks to come, we can expect them to try to change the subject, but we won’t forget. Don’t let them move on to further “transformational” steps while forgetting what Congress just did against the will of the people.

Though Obamacare will inflict billions in new taxes on individuals and employers, at least it creates some jobs: the IRS might have to hire as many as 16,000 new employees to enforce all the new taxes and penalties the bill calls for! And that doesn’t include all the other government jobs from the 159 new agencies, panels, commissions and departments this bill will create. As the private sector shrinks, we can count on government to keep growing along with the deficits needed to keep it all afloat. (Is this the kind of “change” Americans asked for?) …

Though they’d like us to forget, we will remember the corrupt deals, the corrupt process, the lack of transparency, the deceptive gimmicks to game the CBO score, and the utter disregard for the will of the American people. Elections have consequences, and we won’t forget those who promised to hold firm against government funding of abortion, but caved at the last minute in exchange for a non-binding executive order promised by the most pro-abortion president to ever occupy the White House.

… This is just the beginning of our efforts to take back our country. Consider yesterday’s vote a clarion call and a spur to action. We will not let America sink into further debt without a fight. We will not abandon the American dream to government dependency, fewer freedoms and less opportunity. Change is made at the ballot box. If we work together, we can renew our optimistic pioneering spirit, revive our economy, and restore constitutional limits.

speaking of all those new federal employees; are we going to have to be nice to people who work for the government in these new agencies? I’ll be hard put to speak kindly to them.

Let’s see, Romneycare in MA is bankrupting that state, people are being forced to purchase a specific product (first time in American history), (Huckabee a/k/a Huck-a-huckster also tried to get a similar bill enacted in AR, so he’s no conservative) - no Romney “has no clothes” on this issue and needs to be tied to the issue instead of his usual having a “change of heart” as he did with abortion.

I’m starting to view this Bachmann with a great deal of interest.

Palin has issues. She’s OK, but several things bug me, the last being her continued support of McLame (I know, she owes him - except he DID insult her right after the election).

“people are being forced to purchase a specific product (first time in American history),”

Maybe the 1st time “all” people are in ALL the states, but parents have certainly been forced to buy car seats for kids for years now.

I believe that in addition to Congressional races that have Dem seats up for grabs we need to start identifying those State level races for attorney general and secretary of states and make double dang sure we get conservatives into those positions. Soros gang is funding all out assault on the state level to gain control of those state offices that count the votes and handle any and all issues with regard to elections.

Of course you are correct. Not only car seats but specific infant seats, then "child seats, then laws to pull people over to check to see if the "child" is properly installed in said car seat.

This kind of nanny stat-ism has been going on since the 1970s and has continued its climb until this weekend.

What's worse, both parties have climbed in bed with those whose ultimate goal is to control every aspect of life of each and every American.

They used to refer to it as "baby steps" and they knew that they could pull it off so long as they did it incrementally, which they did and it always seemed to be "for the children."

That's exactly how less conservative elected (we now refer to them as "moderates") would run campaigns.

Unless and until people stood up to them, they would get by with this kind of thinking for who among the voters, especially women (note: I am one), would think that "helping others" really didn't mean taking away people's right to think and do for themselves was really the American Dream.

Now, unfortunately, with the woeful excuse we refer to as public education, no one actually knows what real freedom feels like.

Liberals always like to pick those "freedoms" that they like, i.e. pornography, sexual deviancy, abortion, etc. and demand such things as "the right of privacy."

There no longer is such a thing as personal privacy for each government nanny is certain people won't make the "right decision" so they demand the decisions be handed over to them.

People who were too busy getting educations, getting good jobs, marrying (did we actually used to do that?), having children and "living the American Dream," to notice what actually was happening. Worse yet, those who rang the clarion bell were thought to be kooks or nut cases. Well we know one thing for certain, the kooks and nut cases were right -- we were losing our freedoms, little by little so much so that parents aren't free to let their own kids go out and ride tricycles without the "approved helmet."
