Let it be known that these are the real pro-life representatives, who stand up for the rights of an unborn child, even when it isn't the politically showy thing to do!

MAKE SURE YOU FOCUS ON THE ONES WHO CAMPAIGN ON "PRO-LIFE" STANCES, BECAUSE ON NOVEMBER 2, 2010, "WE THE PEOPLE" WILL EXPOSE THEIR HYPOCRISY!
I don’t understand what this vote means?
Is this something to do with what obama offered to get this guy to vote yes?
Also why did Stupak vote no on something with his name on it?
Humor an old man .. please?
(Not real swift with these political doings)
so Stupak sold his soul on his own amendment’s language???
was he always such a fraud or did the Pelosi-crats put a severed horse’s head in his bed?
Stupak didn’t want to make the 30 pro-death Rats bolt.
I seem to have a decent democrat representing my district. Lincoln Davis (D-TN) voted yes for the recommit bill, no for healthcare reform, no for cap and trade.
His voting record looks ok. But I don't want to vote for a democrat, because I don't want to risk leaving the democrat party in control.
BO offered to sign an executive order restating Hyde (which means jack crap since EOs don't have the force of law) in order to get Stupak and the rest of his coalition's 11 votes on HCR, which led to the 219-212 passage tonight.
The GOP leadership knew what Stupak and his posse really were...hypocrites, so they pulled this procedural move to get the Stupak 12 to vote against their own bill, which they did.
Stupak is done in the MI-1. He's probably just waiting for a judgeship/ambassadorship after he gets drubbed in November. I think we'll find out what his price was in the near future.
yes, and apparently they knew HE would not “bolt” ..... interesting to see whose “convictions” and “principles” hold up when so much is on the line ..... so one moral is that there are no “pro-life” Democrats anymore?? only some that pay lip service at campaign time....
These are the true numbers... the rest was just for theater, nothing more.
Stupak didn’t have to spend the past weeks grandstanding about making a deal - he could have stood back and voted for the motion to recommit to put his language back in the bill.
If Stupak's amendment had gone through, the pro-abortion RATs would have abandoned the reconciliation bill, scuttling the plan.
To satisfy the abortion Dems and Stupak, BO offered a compromise to issue an Executive Order stating that no public dollars can be used to fund abortion (the Hyde Amendment). In exchange, Stupak would not bring up abortion funding in reconciliation.
In short, the Republicans called his bluff on his abortion stance.
ah, thanks for the info and explanation — seems that the little Stupak group has inadvertently revealed that “pro-life Democrat” is an oxymoron (as had been obvious for so long but still......)
Sorry, I seemed to posted the same stuff to you twice. My bad :p
Yes, it would be far better to find a repub to vote for.
You might want to reconsider your statement on Davis. In 2008 he had an ACU 12 voting record and a 29 for 2009. That means he votes no on high profile votes with the GOP but on everything else he is a LIBERAL. Been noticing that quite a bit as I check voting records. With so many more Dems then GOP Pelosi is telling people like Davis to go ahead and vote NO but with that voting record he would vote YES if he was needed and I would bet on that one.
Dr. Coburn is waiting to put a hold on any nomination of the RATs that lose in 2010 since it will be obvious they voted YES in exchange for a job after defeat!
True, I'd rather have a Repub that votes the same way. But there is a significant risk that a Repub might not vote as sensibly as he has. And that's the delimina.
I think the democrats need to be sent a message. And unfortunately, that means taking down the good with the bad.
Heck .. I needed to read it twice anyway! lol
I am Really dense on these issues!
Thank You
Bambi says executive order will guarantee no public funding for abortion. Stupak says, OK I support Obamacare!
Bottom line: the law trumps executive orders and Stupak is both a chump and a baby killer! Nice goin', Bart! We'll remember in November! You are both too stupid and too evil to be in government!
You need to stop buying into the myth of the moderate Democrat. Every House Democrat votes for Nancy Pelosi to be Speaker. No moderate would do such a thing. Pelosi shrewdly allows some Dems from moderate districts to vote against certain bills where she already has enough votes. See through the person who talks moderate at home and votes Socialist in DC.
