Shuler has been a firm “no” for a while. The Hill’s Whip Count says the Republicans currently have 36 Democrats voting “no”, and need 38 to kill the bill.
They did not include DeFazio in that 36 (they still have him listed as “undecided”) ... which makes the number 37. They show 40 undecideds (including DeFazio) — which means we need ONLY ONE of the remaining 39 undecideds to kill the bill.

It was said that we have the 217 solid 'no's' to kill the Bill.
Thanks for keeping track of this. Every time I'm in a thread wondering “what's the count, what's the count”, there you are, answering!
From now till Sunday will be one long prayer.
Should they not have the votes you will see a stampede towards no.
According to everyone on the ground, such as Paul Ryan, the whole 40 undecided thing is ridiculous.
Two votes could easily sway this thing, and we have a significantly higher road here to go than the Dems.
We have to turn a lot more than they do, and it isn’t happening.
