It was said that we have the 217 solid 'no's' to kill the Bill.
The 217 number would include the Republicans plus 38 Democrats. The Hill’s numbers show 36 Democrats, but for some reason, they haven’t moved DeFazio into the “likely no” column.
I think we have either 216 or 217 ... there are a couple of “undecideds” on the list that haven’t been confirmed “no” votes yet.
The change from yesterday is that DeFazio confirmed that he will vote against the bill in its current form — which leaves just one more. Ellsworth is a disappointment, but he was an undecided going “yes”, not a “no” going “yes” ... so he wasn’t that big a deal. There are still 39 undecideds according to The Hill.
