The ABC story on Obama's basketball picks consisted of highlights from corporate cousin ESPN's session with Obama as he filled out a big bracket chart, and World News included Obama's spelling challenge. “Should be an R in there,” ESPN's Andy Katz corrected Obama upon spotting how the President had misspelled “Syracuse” as “Sycacuse.”
ESPN shows him write every team in the sweet 16 except for Syracuse, which they EDITED OUT.

I think there is. The President writes a silly mistake, not a "I thought it was spelled THIS way" mistake, but like a typo. He even jokes about it, saying his kids will tease him. NOTHING WRONG or embarrassing about it.
The problem is that ESPN thought it best to cover up his mistake. If George Bush had made that mistake, or just look at Dan Quayle's mistake, it would have been all over the media, narrated in a sarcastic voice, and joked about with no mercy on late night TV. The point is that the media are ruling over us with their power to make or break leaders.
The simple fact that he is on ESPN doing a bracket is nuts... flipping nuts! And of course he picked Georgetown... he really is the kiss of death.

Justified or not, I among many if not most normal people, judge people by their control of language; not the scripted, managed, teleprompter English, but extemporaneous English.
If they haven't mastered their own language, how can we trust politicians to have gotten more complex concepts and connections right in a world increaingly sensitive to total collapse by the well-meaning, smooth talking incompetent?
It's not like among 308 million people there can't be a single human being that is competent at ideas, history, philosophy, science, abstract concepts and language.
