If Senator Reid, Speaker Pelosi, and President Obama get their way, soon our country will be changed forever. Using every partisan parliamentary trick in the book (including some they invented just last week), Washingtons Left intends to ram through their takeover of our health care system regardless of the consequences.
The latest twists and turns in the Obamacare drama seem almost surreal. One minute the Democrat leadership is trying to amend a bill before the president has even signed it into law, and the next minute theyre trying to draft a new rule that will allow the House to deem a bill passed without actually voting on it! Theyre determined to use the Senate reconciliation process as a parliamentary trick to bypass the regular voting procedure (and by the way, to add insult to injury, theyre now going to ram through federalization of Americas student loan industry with this same reconciliation vote). Is there any other wildly unpopular legislation theyd also like to sneak in? Perhaps the anti-energy-independence policy Cap and Tax (aka Cap and Trade) is next?
And make no mistake, the Obamacare bill is wildly unpopular. The Democrats own pollsters warn of an unmitigated disaster for them in November if they dont abandon their plan and start over with real incremental health care reform. Incredibly, at this point, they dont seem to care. Speaker Pelosi thinks Congress must pass the bill so that the American people can then find out whats in it. We know whats in it. We dont want it. The Democrats will take short-term electoral losses in exchange for long-term radical change of the United States of America. They assume well come to accept this new intrusion of government once were stuck with it. Thats why we cant concede this battle. Americans must stiffen our spines and stand against this action that violates the will of the people with centralized government mandates and crippling costs.
... and out comes either the t*rd or a gust of smelly gas.
From the Congress
If they get the votes this week, which they probably will, they will give like 20 minutes notice of the vote so that the people can’t surge to Capitol Hill. If I lived within 3 hours of DC, I would be there.
Or the spawn of Satan....
Hoo boy, when we see the favors that had to be lavished upon our House folks to get them to bend, mud will have a more exalted name than the Democrat Party.
I look for them to push the vote to Saturday as it will get less public attention.
Well, with any luck in November 2010 we’ll get some folks in congress that can pass a bill that “deems” anything ever signed into law by democrats will be rendered useless, pass the bill without BO having to sign it and make it law based on anything BO would veto means it’s what real Americans really want.
Push or putsch?
The difference, or one difference, between Govenor and later President Ronald Reagan and SP is that RR wrote every one of his speeches and opinion pieces.
Vive la difference!
To get enough Democrats to outpush Bummer would be quite an achievement. But buyer’s remorse is likely to turn into buyer’s revenge.
Gaah! It seems like Obama is squeezing out Damien.
HOW ABOUT MARCH ON WASHINGONT THIS WEEK????
SURROUND THE WHITE HOUSE
1 MILLION VOICES SHOUTING “CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW???”
Mud (actually Mudd, from the doctor) already has a better name.
“Sh!t” will be less revolting than “democrat” soon.
Sorry I have to say this again, there are no Democrats but socialists and to further clarify I believe them to be communists.
Nothing is ever “final” with these SOBs. I’ve started calling it the “Wouldya believe...?” administration, a la Maxwell Smart. They just go from one lame attempt to another, they are so all-in on this one tunnel-visual canard.
The battle is so asymmetrical, just like the battle with commies (hmmmm) and terrorists (hmmmm) — the defenders have to be successful every time, while the (commies, terrorists, liberals in congress) can fail 100 times, and still succeed on the 101st try, and call it ‘success’.
“Palin: ‘This Is the Final Push!’”
have to fix it;
Palin: ‘This Is the Final Push-Back!’
The rest of Palin’s Facebook posting:
Republicans in Congress are holding the line, and some Democrats are standing with them. Rep. Bart Stupak (D-MI) said he wont vote for the Senate bill if federal funding of abortion is included. Last Friday, he told National Review Online that some Democrats have told him that if abortions arent covered in Obamacare then more children will be born, and therefore it will cost us millions more Money is their hang-up. Is this how we now value life in America? As I wrote in my first post on this topic, human rights and human dignity must be at the center of any health care discussion. Government health care will not reduce the cost of medical care; it will simply refuse to pay it. And who will get left behind when they have to ration care to save money?
Please ask yourself: who will be left behind? And who will decide what kind of panel will decide who receives the health care that government will obviously have to ration?
Theres a great deal of pressure being put on Stupaks pro-life Democrats. Theyre already dwindling in number. Their party is threatening them, and so are powerful SEIU labor union bosses. The Democrats respecting the sanctity of life have every incentive to buckle under the pressure, so they need to know that well support them if they do the right thing and vote no on Obamacare.
Please take the time to get involved in the debate this week. There are many grassroots efforts under way. There will be a march on Washington on Tuesday, March 16th (see here for details). Rep. Michele Bachmann has a Kill the Bill online petition that you can sign here. Most importantly, contact members of Congress and offer your support if they do the right thing.
We know well beat them at the ballot box, but we have to kill this bill before November. This is the final push. We must stand up and stand together one last time to insist on true market-oriented, patient-centered health care reform that reflects Americas values and the will of the people.
Tea Party busloads will be there tomorrow.
Sorry Sarah, but this is NOT the final push.
They will continue to push until they lose their majority.
