South Dakota --(AmmoLand.com)- The South Dakota Legislature has passed the South Dakota Firearms Freedom Act and that bill is enroute to the Governor’s desk. Governor Michael Rounds has indicated that he’s comfortable with the SDFFA and will sign the bill when it reaches his office.

SD will make the fourth state that has enacted a clone of the Montana Firearms Freedom Act. Once the Wyoming and South Dakota governors sign their respective bills into law, they will join Montana, Tennessee and Utah with enacted laws.

I don’t mean to be Johnny Raincloud, but if these bills don’t include every type of arm under the sun, then they’re meaningless. Suppressors, grenades, M203 launchers, full autos, M134 Gatling gun, down to the smallest pistol.

Texas should lead the way on that one. It would be a real Freedom Act in the truest sense of the meaning of the Second Amendment.

I’m from Arizona, actually. Ours cleared the House last month and had its first reading in the Senate 2/25, then nothing. I’m not entirely convinced the Senate is even meeting on the floor, though a bunch of Senate committees have meetings scheduled throughout the next month. So take heart, you’ll probably beat us to the punch.

It was my belief that very liberal Vermont has always allowed concealed carry. If it is still true that makes 5 states. Someone correct me.

Godspeed

It’s a start. Plus. it’s encouraging just to see state legislators willing to finally draw a line. Wyoming’s even provides for imprisonment for feds and agents who try to enforce the federal laws so nullified.

You lost me. This movement has nothing to do with CCW, but rather with states notifying the feds of areas where the tenth amendment prevents them from meddling in purely intrastate affairs.

Last I read, Vermont and Alaska are the only states in the Union where you don't need a license or permit to own or carry a firearm, though exact rules probably vary.

“I want buy a Ma Deuce”

I had a friend who was a class III dealer that used to bring his toys down to my range to shoot. We shot up 3000 rounds one afternoon and that decided me that it’s just too darn expensive. But I dearly love the MP5. Sweet.

Thanks Still Thinking! This one slipped up on me. I wasn’t even aware SD was moving on a firearms freedom initiative. There’s a lot of noise coming from the States with blowback for the federales. Cool.

Last I read, Vermont and Alaska are the only states in the Union where you don't need a license or permit to own or carry a firearm, though exact rules probably vary.

These bills have nothing to do with concealed carry but rather, manufacture and possession of firearms and ammo within the state. It is specifically stated that firearms and ammo manufactured within that state and RETAINED within that state cannot be regulated by any Federal entity and any laws pertaining to such manufacture or sales do not apply and cannot be enforced. Those attempting to do so are violating the law of that state.

If it isn’t specifically in the constitution then it is a states right issue. And the feds can go fish.(at least until obammy forbids fishing)

I mentioned laws like this that staes were passing the other day to the wife and she said responded she hadn't heard of any of them. I said, natch all you get it crap from the MSM.

I told her States are sick of the Fed Goobermint and OBAMA stepping all over the Constitution and are enacting '10th Amendment Laws'.

When I said 10th amendment I knew I lost her and had to recite it for her. [she went to Chi public schools, so it was okay :-)]

THAT was a joke. We all had to pass a US Constitution test in our Jr year, or else.

People are trying hard. He's opposed in the primary by former congressman JD Hayworth who has a more conservative voting record. Unfortunately Hayworth has far less money than the candidate from Borg, so we'll see.
