Amendment to require Congress & President to enroll in new government-run health care. Vote for
Congressman John Fleming ^ | March 2010 | Congressman John Fleming

Posted on 03/11/2010 11:17:34 PM PST by Exton1

On Tuesday, the Senate health committee voted 12-11 in favor of a two-page amendment that would require all Members and their staffs to enroll in any new government-run health plan.

It took me less than a minute to sign up to require our president, congressmen and senators to drink at the same trough!Three cheers for Congressman John Fleming of Louisiana !

Congressman John Fleming ( Louisiana physician) has proposed an amendment that would require Obama, congressmen and senators to take the same healthcare plan they force on us (underproposed legislation they are curiously exempt).

Congressman Fleming is encouraging people to go on his Website and Sign his petition (very simple - just email).I have just done just that at: http://fleming.house.gov/index.cfm?sectionid

Please urge as many people as you can to do the same!

If Congress forces this on the American people, the Congress Should have to accept the same level of health care for themselves and their families.

To do otherwise is the height of hypocrisy! Please pass this on!!

Frankly I’d be happy with an amendment banning them from Bethesda Naval or Walter Reed. Let them run down the block to Centra Care.

The mental image of seeing Pelosi and Reid in the same waiting room as Jose and Maria with their kids is amusing.

However, forcing congress to sign up for the public option is irrelevant -- they will still have priviledged access to health care providers, treatments, procedures, therapies, etc., that the common person will be denied or have to hurdle obstacles to get to.

Additionally, they will have taxpayer-funded supplemental insurance which ensures their preferential treatment at clinics only school kids will see on an occasional tour.

Supplemental insurance is where congress is going to get insurance companies to heel for them -- only a few crowded places will accept payment levels stipulated by government-mandated insurance. Supplemental insurance will enrich the companies, and be required to get decent treatment, while being outside government regulation.

Odds are that this is pure grandstanding. They may have the same plan, but a different “secure” location(s).

How many times have we heard them say “suspend the rules?”

That’s a good point ... “the same but different”. Far better to kill this turkey legislation before it becomes law.

” that would require Obama, congressmen and senators to take the same healthcare plan”

I see this a lot. Senators are Congressmen. House of Reps and Senators.

Just because US gov't employees and John Q. share the same plan, doesn't mean they have the same "level of care".

Don't expect to see your Congressman sitting in the waiting room just like you, he and the doctor have a different arrangement. Likewise, you won't see his name on any waiting list, he won't have to wait for care like you do.

He may have to fill out the same forms as John Q. does (actually a staff member does it), but the difference is his papers go through while yours get denied or simply disappear.

If he ever has a problem with the system, one phone call will set it right. He'll never be placed on hold, either.

So don't wish this mess on us all just to inflict it on them, that's a brier patch argument.

Ain’t gonna happen they like their GOLD CADDY health care, while sticking you with the IRS controled health care.

Defeat Obamacare call list: List now contains the new MAYBES culled from FR posts.

Code Red” - House Target List on Health Care

The National Republican Congressional Committee has published a target list on health care. In addition to continuing to contact the five Tennessee Democrat Congressmen, you can go http://www.votervoice.net/link/clickthrough/ext/94697.aspx to contact some of these targets. Much of the talk following Obama’s announcement has focused on how to defeat this second bill through reconciliation, but that is misleading because the first step to defeating Obamacare is not by concentrating on defeating the “fixer” bill but by defeating the Senate bill in the House when it goes to the floor for an up-or-down vote on Thursday, March 18th.
