Karl Rove says George Bush missed chance for immigration reform
Irish Central ^ | 3/10/10 | Pat Roberts

Karl Rove now says he is sorry that immigration reform was not President Bush's top priority at the beginning of his second term rather than social security reform.

Speaking to The New York Times Rove said " As I said in the book, (Courage and Consequences) I wish we had led the second term with immigration reform.

If we had led with immigration reform at the beginning of the second term we could have had bipartisan cooperation with a Republican majority in the House and the Senate and done something important for the country that was tilted more toward what the Republicans wanted but couldn’t have passed without Democratic votes instead of Social Security which Democrats wouldn’t participate in until they had a taste of victory.

Immigration reform would have given everybody a bipartisan victory and would have cleared the ground for entitlement reform."

Yet another reason to reject the politics of DC and RINOs.

The fact is that they have far more in common with dimocRATS than with conservative Republicans.

Ah, but Rove worked mightily to undermine Hunter’s Enforcement Only House bill

I got an email a while back stating that three US presidents actually deported illegals. Eisenhower was one of them, I forgot the other two.

So I’d say that Bush missed an opportunity to start deporting illegal aliens to help the US job market.

Rove is like finding Brilcream in the dispincer you thought was your favorite toothpaste. And you find out when you’re brushing your teeth with it.

Oh he was in a position to know and didn’t. He was privy to all the information, and still gets it wrong all too often.

Sorry Karl, I’m not buying what you’re shoveling. That not an amnesty amnesty was sickening.

This issue alone is why I would not walk across the street to see Karl Rove or GWB. Everytime I think about GWB saying, “See you at the signing,” I want to puke.

Go away Karl no one is listening to you and I hope your book flops. You were a horrible advisor and I don’t care what you have to say.

Bush's missed opportunity kind of sounds like Obamas attempt to force feed his subjects on ‘health care’.

No, Rove is far more malicious, and obtuse than Newt.

Seems Obama is getting complaints from groups like LaRaza concerning workplace roundups of illegal workers.

Annoying.

Bush’s top priority, seeing as how we were at war, was to wage the war effectively.

His second priority ought to have been to secure the border. Secure the border, and enforce the current law and the problems will sort themselves out. Fail to secure the border, and the republic as republic is on its way out. So, its pretty important. He failed not only to do it, but even to understand that it needed to be done.
