Shaming of the NHS: Patients STILL treated in kitchens, abandoned in mop cupboards

Patients are routinely being treated in kitchens, mop cupboards and corridors because hospitals are so overcrowded, a shocking survey reveals.

Third World conditions are commonplace, with hospitals housing patients for days in storage areas, offices, TV rooms and outpatient clinics.

This disturbing treatment of the sick and vulnerable comes despite a tripling of the NHS budget by Labour over the past decade.

The survey of 900 nurses follows a Daily Mail story telling how Doris McKeown, 80, spent 48 hours in a supply cupboard while waiting for surgery at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.

Many nurses also told how extra beds were often crammed into wards to avoid breaching a Whitehall target on A&E waiting times.

Everyone is equal in misery — now that’s social justice.

If Gilbert and Sullivan were alive today, this subject would make for a very interesting operetta.

False! Everyone is not in equal misery. Anyone with any money pays for a PRIVATE hospital and doctor.

From Wikipedia: Private-sector medical care
England has a private sector in health care providing a lesser set of treatments than those obtainable from the NHS. Private health care is sometimes funded by employers through medical insurance as part of a benefits package to employees though it is mostly the larger companies that do. Insurers also market policies directly to the public. Most private care is for specialist referrals with most people retaining their NHS GP as point of first contact.

What they do not state here is that most wealthy people NEVER darken the door of a NHS Hospital. The rest of the country pays for the NHS so they carry the card and use what they can.

This is what is commonly referred to by the Left as a Two Tiered System featuring the haves and the have nots. Those with the money or the good job with good health insurance and those with the NHS.

You see the difference is that in the U.S. you are just as likely to be next to a woman in the maternity ward with Medicaid as with Private insurance. In the UK and the rest of the ‘enlightened’ Western World. you are either stuck in the broom closet with the dregs of society or you PAY EXTRA to go someplace that has an inkling of concern about you and your health because their livelihood depends on it.

Not all NHS hospitals are hellholes that a third world refugee camp would be embarrased at the comparison... Christies in Manchester, for example, is an NHS-run hospital and it is one of the finest cancer hospitals and research centres in the world...

That said, the NHS needs wholesale institutional reform along French or Singaporeon lines....

“Code Red” - House Target List on Health Care
The National Republican Congressional Committee has published a target list on health care. In addition to continuing to contact the five Tennessee Democrat Congressmen, you can go http://www.votervoice.net/link/clickthrough/ext/94697.aspx to contact some of these targets. Much of the talk following Obama’s announcement has focused on how to defeat this second bill through reconciliation, but that is misleading because the first step to defeating Obamacare is not by concentrating on defeating the “fixer” bill but by defeating the Senate bill in the House when it goes to the floor for an up-or-down vote on Thursday, March 18th.

A chain is only as strong as it’s weakest link. The UK system IS A CANCER. It is the same type of cancer that the Democrats and the idiot president want to inflict on the U.S. system. There is not one American hospital that is as poorly run as the average UK hospital. Private enterprise and the profit margin demand the highest level of care. The fact is that that costs money. If the government got out of the health care business, the quality would go up quicker and the price would go down.
