Reconciliation is a red herring. For a more straightforward/less flamboyant example of somebody making the exact same point, here is Marc Thiessen in today's WashPost: http://voices.washingtonpost.com/postpartisan/2010/03/how_pelosi_will_game_the_stupa.html

If Reconciliation is used for health care, “Repeal” should be the word of the day. Also “Impeachment” should also be considered. When the government goes against the will of the majority of the people, they need to be removed from office immediately. If the government wants to make massive changes such as this health bill will surely do, the people need to make massive changes to our government.

“President Obama and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid now are channeling the tactics of Gene Wilder and Cleavon Little from the movie “Blazing Saddles.”
Argh, now I’ll have to associate one of my favorite movies ever with two of my least favorite politicians ever. Argh.
Then again, at least the author didn’t cast Pelosi as Lilly Von Shtupp....

Olson Johnson:
"What are we made of? Our fathers came across the prairies, fought Indians, fought drought, fought locusts, fought Dix..." Yep, I think we're up to the last part there - fighting the Communist "Dix".
If this bill is passed into law, I may just have to kill more men than Cecil B. DeMille.
