He spoke directly with Brees a short time after the game. Brees had no problem with Manning's behavior. Virtually no one in Nawlins has a problem with Manning's conduct either.

That’s nice of Eli but how can that hospital be that much in the hole? Yikes.

Must be those evil health insurance companies that don't pay their bills.[sarcasm]

Wow. The sniping at Eli Manning because he had the audacity to accept money rightfully earned. And then he helps the hospital by forgiving $500,000 of HIS money, and still he gets unkind comments.

Very ungracious, IMO.

Illegals and indigents.
NY State has the highest cost per indigent patient in the world. And every year the NY Legislature barely if at all increases reimbursement to the hospitals.

Blame goes to so many sectors of NY state society it’s hard to pick a place to start. Been like this since the Johnson administration.

JerseyHighlander you are right re: illegals. I graduated from St. V’s in 1962,and the illegal new mom’s in OB were on welfare and braging about “flying” home to Puerto Rico to have their babies christened. And that was 48 years ago.

Yes, my grandmother was a nursing administrator at another NYC hospital in the early 1960’s, and Pres. Johnson brought her on board to reformulate MediCare/MediCaid shortly before the Ted Kennedy immigration reforms.

The Immigration and Nationality Services Act of 1965 directly caused the collapse of a welfare state designed to be a safety net just for the native born indigent population.

JH-On another note,I hope Chris Christie(not sure of spelling of last name) does right for your state. He looks like he’s trying to keep his word.

That is one way not to treat illegals, or people that don’t pay. No hospital.

Fine.

Well go back, to a Internet type network of lose doctors. Too small to hustle. It was the form, the institution of the hospital, like many others like public housing, schools, etc that allowed socialism. Get rid of the institutions, no socialism. Of course the government might just put guns to people, raid their homes, private property, business as it does already.

In some ways I think this whole debt, financial collapse, taxes eating the tax payer is all a good thing. Let’s get to were we have long been going to and get it all over with. The sooner the crash the sooner the new can grow.

When he was signed to the Giants I believe he was awarded the biggest contract in NFL history.

You believe incorrectly. He isn't even the highest-paid QB, let alone the highest-paid player in NFL history. You might be thinking of Redskins DT Albert Haynesworth, who signed a supposedly $100 million dollar contract, except that his deal is "really" a $48 million contract.

My husband is a doc for Kaiser. Obamacare will not be a boon for anyone in the medical field or anyone needing medical care. He is as worried about his future in medicine as I am (private practice). Both of us plan an early and immediate retirement if Obamacare is passed.

Probably Charity Care is a part of it and if they are heavily into Medicaid patients (where Obama wants us all to be) their reimbursement to charges sucks. Medicaid doesn’t even cover costs.

Do you remember when Eli was drafted? He was crying like a big baby because he didn't want to play for the Chargers. Well the same time the news was reporting that Ex-NFL star Tillman makes ‘ultimate sacrifice’
Safety, who gave up big salary to join Army, killed in Afghanistan. That's what turned me off on the Manning brothers. There both spoiled brats.

Eli has a superbowl ring and Rivers does not. I don’t think there is anything spoiled about making smart business decisions.

...but they are still going to give him a load of sh*t over taking the first contractually agreed payment of $500,000.

Whatever you do, don’t blame the laws that order the hospital to treat people who cannot pay, don’t have insurance and are in this country illegally.

Just as I thought. My Canadian GF said “why did I come here, escaping socialism when the very same healthcare system will be implemented in America?”. The MD’s in her department by rumor, plan to open med ctrs in the Philippines and Mexico if it passes because it truly is not a feasible system to work under.
