Cook: Democrats Likely To Cut Cord On Many Incumbents
IBD's Capital Hill ^ | 2/23/2010 | Ed Carson

In his health care push, President Obama stressed the need for cutting out unnecessary treatments. That didn’t go over well with the public. It may also unnerve vulnerable incumbents. After all, if Obama was willing to deny a new hip for his ailing grandmother, how hard will he and the Democratic party fight to save a moderate Missouri congressman who’s down 10 points in the polls?

Veteran election analyst Charlie Cook is betting they’ll remove the feeding tubes:

Say, maybe a great idea would be for OBAMA TO CAMPAIGN for a lot of those candidates. He has got a HELL of a record. :)

What about cutting some of the unnecessary tests which doctors order because they must practice defensive medicine to avoid vexatious lawsuits by the trial lawyer industry?

The lawyers tell us that lawsuits are responsible for only 5% of medical costs. What they don't tell us is that those are the direct costs from the litigation and awards. The tests ordered to defend against this litigation are at least three to four times that amount.

Can’t wait till they cut the feeding tubes on 0bozo, the kenyan commie pig usurper. If it wasn’t for the ferociously pro-demoRAT media hacks & boatloads of free publicity & shilling for 0bozo, we still would have never heard of this 2-bit cheap corrupt Chicago whore, 0bozo!

It doesnt matter which strategy they employ, they will lose the House and the Senate in Nov. Combined seat losses will top 100 seats.

The Dems are dooming themselves. Here they are still farting around with health care when the people said they are more worried about jobs, the deficit and mounting government debt. This is after saying they were going to pivot hard on jobs at the SOTU speech.

Consumer confidence just took a dive and people are still losing jobs. A bill to extend unemployment benefits does nothing to increase jobs and employment. The economy is not going to bounce back enough by November to save their butts. They are doomed.

Hahaha well my track record isn’t perfect, but I just don’t see how Democrats are not going to wind up looking at 1994 with fondness after Nov 2010. Short of a massive shift in the political landscape, they are going to be routed.

Lets face it, they have been pasted in 3 out of 3 special elections, when the republican offerings have been anything but stellar candidates. The “recovery” is non existant, and while 1 in 5 people is unemployed or underemployed DC is still trying to shove socialized medicine down their throats. The spitshine is off the turd that is Fauxbama, and democrats are facing a Tsunami come Nov.

Right now, I also believe odds are at least 50/50 if not better Fauxbama will face impeachment in 2011, and that the impeachment will be instantiated and pushed by Democrats desperate to save their party from the disasterous course Pelosi, Reid and Fauxbama have put it on.

He’s rapidly becoming a man without a country, he keeps pushing doubling down on the very things that are causing democrats to lose support, there are democrats who aren’t going to let their entire party fall on the sword for this yokel.

I'd bet it's closer to 90, but still a huge turn-around... unless the economy improves between now and November. Look for the MSM to start talking about the recovery being "JUUUUST around the corner" when September begins.

I agree that Brown and Christie might not have been stellar candidates, but McDonnell is the real deal.

In a perverse strategy this may be just what Cook's Democrat sources want communicated. Look, Mr. down-in-the-polls Congressman, you're a dead man walking anyway, so why not do something "historic" and vote in Obamacare as your last significant act in office?

It's as good an explanation as any for the apparent death-wish strategy the Dims seem to be pursuing.

Oh, yes! There is a strange genus of political animal known widely as democratus Vulgaris that is best known for it's leeching ways.

Once thought to be plentiful to the point of serious nuisance, it is now apparently threatened with extinction.

Despite the seemingly alarming consequences of this display Darwinian finality, there does not appear to be much public concern over the impending disappearance of this mammalian atavism.

Although safely smooshed in history books for future generations to pore and ponder over, it's imminent demise on the political landscape seems equally safely assured.

Tennessee has joined several other states in trying to pass a Health Care Freedom Act. NO COLAs for granny, retired Military or retired fed employees. BIG NEW fees for Tricare for Life retired over 65 Military's secondary health ins. (DOD bill already passed, delayed but goes into effect 2011)

TRI CARE FOR LIFE This from a google search:

http://economicspolitics.blogspot.com/2009/05/tricare-for-life-is-obama-trying-to.html

This option would help reduce the costs of TFL, as well as costs for Medicare, by introducing minimum out-of pocket requirements for beneficiaries. Under this option, TFL would not cover any of the first $525 of an enrollee’s cost-sharing liabilities for calendar year 2011 and would limit coverage to 50 percent of the next $4,725 in Medicare cost sharing that the beneficiary incurred. (Because all further cost sharing would be covered by TFL, enrollees could not pay more than $2,888 in cost sharing in that year.)

Congress plans to block Tricare fee increases
http://www.armytimes.com/news/2009/10/military_tricarefees_blocked_100709w

By Rick Maze - Staff writer, Oct 7, 2009

Tricare fee increases imposed last week by the Defense Department will be repealed by a provision of the compromise 2010 defense authorization bill unveiled Wednesday by House and Senate negotiators.

Snip

The fee increases were announced on Sept. 30 and took effect on Oct. 1, but the defense bill, HR 2647, includes a provision barring any fee increases until the start of fiscal 2011.

Snip

Retired Army Maj. Gen. Bill Matz, president of the National Association for Uniformed Services, said the announcement of fee increases was shocking considering that the Obama administration promised earlier this year to hold off on any new fee Tricare fee increases until fiscal 2011.

“President Obama and DoD assured NAUS and the entire military family earlier this year that there would rightly be no increases in any Tricare fees” in fiscal 2010, Matz said. “We took them at their word, and I can’t believe that a co-pay increase like this was allowed to go forward,” he added.

Bambi doesn't keep his promises...so buyer beware.
