On sidelines of EU meeting, FM cites insufficient evidence in Dubai case. Talkbacks (46)

Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman met on Monday afternoon with Irish Foreign Minister Michael Martin to discuss the implications of the reported Dubai spy case.

Meeting with a number of his European colleagues on the sidelines of a conference of the EU foreign ministers in Brussels, Lieberman told his Irish colleague that there is no evidence indicating Israeli involvement in the assassination of Hamas terror chief Mahmoud al-Mabhouh last month.

He added that were someone to present information beyond what is in the newspapers, Israel would relate to it, but since there is no such information, there is no need for Israel to deal with the matter.

Lieberman said that there are many false accusations against Israel on any number of issues, and that there is an Arab inclination to blame Israel for everything. He went on to raise the possibility that someone in the Arab world was responsible for the assassination.

Lieberman explained that in the Middle East, there are any number of internal battles inside non-democratic organizations and countries.

Mabhouh's body was found in a Dubai hotel room last month. Suspicion has fallen on a hit squad from Israel's Mossad spy agency.

Meanwhile on Monday, the EU was questioning Israel about falsified European passports used in the assassination – suspectedly the work of the Mossad.

Spanish Foreign Minister Miguel Angel Moratinos said the EU was "extremely concerned" that suspects in the Jan. 20 killing of Mabhouh carried fake EU passports.

He also stated his intention to broach the issue with Lieberman.

Israel has linked Mabhouh to the smuggling of arms into Gaza and the slaying of two Israeli soldiers on leave.

I do.

“A straw man argument is an informal fallacy based on misrepresentation of an opponent’s position.[1] To “attack a straw man” is to create the illusion of having refuted a proposition by substituting a superficially similar proposition (the “straw man”), and refuting it, without ever having actually refuted the original position.[1][2]”

The difference between the US and the UAE is that the latter has no diplomatic relations with Israel

I have no diplomatic relations with the hillbillies down the road.

Does that make it fine and dandy if I go cap a few of them?

Even if they have a meth lab or a dog-fighting operation?

The "badness" of the target does not exonerate the assailant.

What, that if Israel is free to whack terrorists in Dubai, then why can't it whack folks in your home town?

It's a huge stretch, jackass.

Don't like being called a jackass, you may apologize for implying that my Mom might be worthy of assassination like any member of a terrorist group. I know if I implied such a thing, you'd take it in stride, perhaps heard it before, but I'm not a humblegunner.

Can you point me to your criticism of American strikes> The Great Satan, as you know, is a major violator of humblegunner morality. In violation of international law in many peoples minds.

In absense of that, it would appear that the issue hear isn't killing terrorists, I know you hate to see terrorists killed, but who's doing the killing.

Another red herring; both you and the hillbillies are governed by US laws.

Why not, as you note hillbillies, aka rednecks and many other terms, are a bunch of lowlife druggies and dogfighters.

Terrorists too. Gunowners amongst them you know, ask Janet.

Who don't you hate?

Of course under US law the hillbillies who belong to Hamas end up in the slammer. Odd, here on this conservative forum we’re bashing hillbillies in defense of Hamas, isn’t it.

Since you want to stoop to that level, your mom is a jackass.

No, actually I've never criticized American strikes. Are you drunk?

The Great Satan, as you know, is a major violator of humblegunner morality

Well, I learn something new each day. Are you drunk?

Absense? Hear? Are you drunk?

I know you hate to see terrorists killed

Definately drunk. But funny.

It’s not name-calling when the subject is an idiot.

You avoid answering the posts that call you or your equating terrorists who kill innocent people with people who, after due consideration, kill the killers.

You avoid explaining what you perceive to be the difference betweeen sending a UAV into a third country (e.g., Pakistan, Libya, whatever) to kill terrorists like the USA does with sending a hit squad to target an individual.

It is apparent that the only thing you dislike is that Israel is defending herself.

Your lack of logical explaination makes you either an idiot, or something worse.

I think you are something worse, to SJackson was being kind.

You are certainly entitled to your own opinion.

But crossing boundaries to do it without permission is almost as bad as the terrorist scum themselves.

I think terrorist's should live in fear they may die at any second, anywhere.

I’m not Jewish.
I’m not Israeli.

I should love some non-Christian foreigners why?

Good that some terrorists got dead, for sure, but fall all over
myself slobbering over non-Christian foreigners? No, I think not.

Ah, so you choose to hate me because I don't love Israel.

You're no better than a jihadi.

Really? Who have I killed? Which women and kids? Any? No?

So just because I don't fall down and worship Jews I'm an enemy? Really?

I print out your FR page, and use it for scraping crap my boots, you self–righteous jerk.

That's cute, please do it twice.

Because I don't think Jews are totally awesome, I'm a bad guy. I should be shot.

You know, there was this guy, oh 50 or 60 years ago, who thought that way.

He figured anybody who didn't share his opinions was a shitbag and should be shot.

His name was Hitler.

You sound a lot like him.

Cause they are on the same side of the war that WE ARE ON.

We are "on" a war?

But it sounds like YOU are not on that side.

Please cite any pro-terrorist indications of this.

Humblegunner AKBAR! posing as a bighearted jew-hating Christian.

I don't hate 'em.. don't love 'em either. Is that a problem?

Jews paid with blood and treasure in EVERY WAR since the founding of this Republic.

Just them? I don't think so. Lots of folks contributed.

And now I will give you what you are begging for.

You're gonna shut up and quit whining?

Come on, skippy. I don't hate Jews or Israel. I just don't see them as anything special or fantastic.

Why is this such a problem for you?

It’s one thing to not support Israel; it’s another to hate them, which you clearly do.

But, on the bright side, I bet your a winner at the welfare office.
